Any word on varney and Haywood. I watched
That Haywood hit about 10 times. Not to many people his age would even get back up!
Just barely seen the Varney hit. Was he knocked out? Or what? Camera angle was
horrible, but it looked like a clean hit, and a textbook hit. Helmet right in the chest. Maybe he landed and head took a shot? They were checking his pupils.
Does JC not keep an ambulance there on standby?
Congrats JC. Defense looked good tonight. Or at least for a half it did. Didn’t see the 2nd half. Good game to go into the playoffs on. Shouldn’t have to much problems with LC. Couple playmakers on offense, but D is (no offense) horrible!

They said Varney would probably be out next week, but was going to be ok. It was a clean hit bur just a very hard one. Haywood looked to get knocked into the air and land on his shoulder. Hate to see any ambulances at a game, let alone two. It has been a while since we have had ambulances on station at them game.

Update on Coach Haywood….heard he suffered two broken ribs. Haven’t heard anything else. Belfry’s freshman QB should make a full recovery….don’t think he’ll play in the first week of the playoffs.
Belfry faced an uphill battle coming in….losing your coach and QB didn’t help matters any. Been a tough year on Pond Creek. Kids have fought hard…. but their youthful inexperience has certainly led to some uncharacteristic losses.
The next three years should be interesting.

Facebook says Varney had a lower back injury but is ok.
Coach Haywood with broken ribs.
@OutlawJoseyWales OutlawJoseyWales the next 3 on Pond Creek could be really good for you guys or really bad. That’s a powder keg situation over there in all 3 boys sports and girls basketball waiting to explode I’m afraid

All three sports are loaded with talented youth. Football will return over 80pct of its roster and 73 pct of its starters in its top 22 including its entire backfield.

They are absolutely loaded.
That doesn’t always equal success at Belfry in the other 2 boys sports.
Many rumors swirling about issues right now head coach of high school planning to pretty much bypass the freshmen class in basketball and a few in baseball.
Threats of 8th graders wanting to transfer if they don’t play varsity basketball this year. Lots of feelers and shopping in that 8th grade class
Many rumors that you won’t be returning as much in football as you should because of it.
