Is anyone good landing in Corbin?

No Clue if any of this is true.... I'll put the overheard bleacher talk from last night here, please delete if unacceptable. A panther is supposedly headed to be a Jag. Other say no way, he's leaving the feline club completely and heading to the big red K9's where coincidentally most transfering 13th region athletes seem to end up..... No clue if any of this is true, I thought new transfer rules had been applied, If a transfer were to happen mid year don't athletes need to ride the pine for a year, I'm clueless, I just hear stuff.

Chadwell will end up at North. Would be a good move for him.

If he gets eligible (KC will fight this tooth and nail), what will he do after the basketball season? North will go back to being pretty regular once Reed and Davidson roll out.
10-24-2022, 03:52 PM
I've watched Chadwell play basketball and football several times, he is very talented at both. With that being said, he has the build and talent to make a difference at the college level in football.

He will probably get him a ring in basketball. Only State Title North has ever won. North plays better football than Knox. London is closer to Lex than Barbourville and a better town to live in. Quality of life will be better. Just the way I fee HCS. Nothing personal
10-24-2022, 05:07 PM
So he moved so he could be closer to I75?
10-24-2022, 05:53 PM
I-75 makes things a lot easier on an athlete wanting to get out of SE KY. He’s a darn good basketball player to besides football. Sorry you may not get it fan of many. Landon’s a better town than dead ass Barbourville. Let’s be honest. And yes he has legally moved. Be eligible in about 7-8 days.

I don't have a dog in the fight either, I just don't think there is much difference in a 20-minute drive from Barbourville to London as far as quality of life. If he's worried about I-75 or Lexington, why not just move there. It sounds like you're saying it's a bad idea to live in 90 percent of the towns in eastern Kentucky.

I believe Richie Farmer Reed Sheppard have been two of the best I've seen at taking games over. I do think Sheppard is probably the to date best to do in the 13th. But in the last few years their have been some good ones. Taylor from Corbin was pretty awesome. Broughton at North is in there. Fox from Jackson. I will say i like several of the teams. Even watch the freshman and middle school 13th region teams. But if you think North will be a pushover when Sheppard and Davidson are gone you are very wrong! Sheppard was on a undefeated middle school championship team. And now two more squads are at north high both having won Middle School championships undefeated. One of those two almost repeated. Yeah Yeah i know its middle school, BUT it speaks greatly about what's coming down the pipe. And i also will say the serious coaches know this. My Boys at Clay have also have jumped in to stepping things up at their middle school programs and have some great sophomore and freshman players now at the high school. Davis at South is doing the same and Sizemore at Bell. The game has advanced! Time/hard work and a little luck will tell who the next stand out will be.

Already moved or just renting an apt to be eligible?
I’m shocked his parents could sell their house and buy one so fast.
With that kind of money they should have just moved on to Lexington
This kind of stuff just shows hard work don’t matter, because HS has become like college when you recruit over your own kids.

HCS, I love southeastern KY but from many years of being around athlete after athlete, driving to Lex, Knoxville, Louisville or wherever to just be at a practice it gets really really hard. London is relatively close to Lexington and Knoxville. More opportunities in those two cities. 20 minutes equals 40 minutes. Idk HCS and I’m not wanting to argue with you but London is a better place to be if your a High Level athlete or just a regular Joe trying to improve to get on a higher level. Good luck to Gavin. Hope to see him suit up on Sunday’s some day.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Chadwell next year. This is a basketball move, has nothing to do with football. With the roster they had, North was the favorite to win the region, but not a prohibitive favorite. And I don’t think they had enough around Shep and Davidson to win a state title. Now they could definitely contend, because Chadwell gives them exactly what they lacked, a talented banger who doesn’t have to be fed the ball. When it looked like Trent Noah was coming, I was skeptical about how good of a fit he was. I think he’s a great high school player, but that would have given you three guys that need a lot of shots. Not sure that’s always the right recipe. This just seems more like a perfect fit.
10-25-2022, 11:05 AM
Yes it was a much better fit, they didn’t need another shooter.

(10-25-2022, 04:44 PM)BallAlcoholic That was accurate. Sheppard's group won in 6th grade against North Oldham 7th grade he had a fractured foot. I know the family. Yeah middle school it matters some kids now a days have some great skills early. If I'm not mistaken Corbin Started a Middle Schooler last year. My point was If and I mean a Big IF NL can keep the talent they have coming up and they mature/grow they could be a better team as a whole with around 8 players deep very skilled. But that's Rollin the dice. If the new transfer gets eligible he will definitely help them. Clay's younger group has been looking really good and several are now playing AAU. I fully expect to see a coaching change here soon. Wrote:(10-25-2022, 12:10 AM)Navin Johnson Wrote:(10-24-2022, 11:16 PM)BallAlcoholic Wrote:Middle school championships? Undefeated? Transferring is bad for High School athletics. I wish the KHSAA had some sort of jurisdiction to stop it. They act like they do but at the end of the day transfers always get eligible even when it’s for obvious athletic reasons, and the only kids who ever get ruled ineligible are the kids who don’t have the money to get a lawyer to fight it. But it is hard to discourage it when these HS coaches watched GRC win a state championship with 2 keys players transferring in, everybody watched Scott County bring in transfers for 20+ years.

Transferring is a wonderful thing. Change is always good. Who wants me play for a terrible program? Shouldn’t be trapped. Life is just a blur. Enjoy it while you can.
