Not taking anything away from Trevor, he was a good football player, but Pugh is better than Compton was IMO.

Play man, your back faces the middle and you are looking toward the sidelines for help over the top if you are a FS. He was in coverage over towards JC's sideline, Bloom breaks it to the outside going down Paintsville's sideline, Daniel opens up, throws the elbow to get his body around, and runs him down before he makes it to the endzone the way a college coach teaches their players to do it and most high schools as well. Quit takin up for Bloom so much, yes he is fast, but I don't think he is as fast as Pugh. Just a few posts ago you agreed and said he caught him and had the angle. Thats part of the game, Bloom can't score every time he has the ball.
You watched the film huh? BLUME broke that run down the JC sideline and Pugh was smack in the middle of the field.......ok if you take him in a foot race with my cuz, then go get him and some kletes or track shoes, and I'll wager $200 on Blume. GIMME A BREAK
Pugh is fast, and he has dag on good game speed, but he's no Blume. He caught him from behind on that run with an ANGLE.........on a similar run later on in the game, Pugh had a so so angle on Blume and was blown out of the water.

Probably top 2-3 best athletes in Eastern Kentucky.

Yeah you're right, Blume is gone. There's no need for an argument about who's faster between Pugh and him. This is a thread about Pugh, the kid deserves plenty of recognition. He and Blume are two different style players and at two different positions so you can't really compare the two.
OH, and to answer your question, Blume is going to Eastern Kentucky University.

All I can say it this, Pugh is a great player there is doubt, but what did he do in the big games? The games that were a toss up? He lost big to JCHS and didn't perform well and he lost to Pikeville (a game which I attended), and he lost a game in the regional final.
Hey this kids potential is unbelievable, but I need to see him perform in a huge game and win a close one. The question I have is where is this kid in the huge game? Big time players make big time plays in big games! I want to see that from him before I judge how good he is.
NOTE: I am not knocking Daniel, I just want to see him play like he does against Allen Central, Betsy Layne, Phelps, and Evarts in a huge game. He is awesome there is no doubt about it, I just want to see him awesome all the time.

Should have been at the Hazard, Lynn Camp or even Evarts games last year. Against JCHS, no one played well and you can't do much when the ends and tackles are in your face as soon as you get set or make adjustments. Against Pikeville, he played well he didn't run well because the Panthers boxed him in but he did throw the ball well. Against Somerset it was just one of those games, all players are entitled to one. You missed a Daniel Pugh show against Evarts, no one showed up to play but Daniel. Evarts was not a bad football team, they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as AC, BL or Phelps.

I was at the Lynn Camp game and I watched a spectacular 1st half and a lack luster second half. Evarts wasn't all that good and they played without one of their best players.
Again I am not saying Daniel isn't a great player because he is awesome. I just want to see it in a huge game. One that the Tigers aren't suppose to win. Truely great players are those who can take their game and their team to higher level when the chips are down. Daniel can do it, I know, and I want to see him do it.

I guess Hazard isn't a "huge game"? He stepped up that night if I remember correctly. BUT, Unless I forgot, football is a team sport and DP plays a position that relies on the performances of a whole latta people. It doesn't matter if you take DP out and put Peyton Manning or Mike Vick back there. They can't do it themselves. If the rest of the team isn't playing well, then the QB will struggle also.

Paintsville played most of the playoffs without one of their best as well. The Lynn Camp game was lack luster in the second half because they rean a ball control offense. They lost momenteum and about lost the game. Ridge Runner is right, Hazard was a huge game.

Guys I will say it again, I believe Daniel is an awesome QB, I just want to see him do what he does well in the tough games. Yes, Hazard is a tough game, but thats one. Daniel is great but I want to see him do it every game. He can he had the potential. I just want to see that from him.

If you have nothing to say pertaining to Pugh, then stay out of this thread. This thread is for Pugh, not for JC and PHS to argue!!!!

Pugh is a very good athlete. He should get some recognition from some good colleges.

I heard he was going to Pikeville this year? Any truth to this?
