Pikeville plays subs the whole 2nd half

Great strip sack TD by Sayre in first half, scored on second team D in second half. First team D gave up pretty much zero yards. Class move by Mac to keep the score down as expected.

Good solid win by the Panthers. As expected, very hard to score on this Pikeville team. Things are panning out a little more clearer after hazard lost last night. Panthers should overtake the dawgs in the #1 spot rpi. Congrats Panthers!!

Got to be honest, I was slightly impressed with Sayre. They did a nice job of limiting Pikeville’s big plays other than a couple right before the half and a very nice job of open field tackling. The strip sack play was a helluva play. Yes they were outmanned but their kids played hard and their coaches coached all night. If he stays long term, Coach Pennington and his Sayre team may very well become a contender in 1A in the next few years. I know the Panther squad didn’t bring the same energy as the last few weeks but that was to be expected but they still handled their business nicely.

Well said, I was impressed with them as well. You can tell they are well coached and they play hard. They are a couple players away from having a nice team.

Also 5th overall in state. Only behind Beechwood, Corbin, Bardstown and I can't remember the other one

Pikeville will increase margin over Hazard when they beat them in 2 weeks. Russellville will hurt RPI and playing 9 games won't help. Just need to finish in top 2...

A lot of respect for Coach Pennington & Sayre. They are doing a great job with that program. Hope to see their continued growth.

The open date is the big question with the RPI. It’s crazy that the panthers can’t get a game.

^ Not really unexpected because with the RPI nobody wants to get beat bad by a 1A team.
