Boom!!

I expected Pikeville to win but not like this.
#5
Gotta give Hoot credit he called this one.

A big ole Let's Go Brandon for him.

About what I expected. Madison Central is big, athletic, and undisciplined. I did not expect the running clock but Pikeville was clearly a much better team.

Wow. Pikeville is an absolute machine right now. Them winning isn’t surprising but to put a running clock on a team who had the eventual 6A state champs St. X on the ropes in the semi finals last season is. At this point I think it’d make sense for someone to petition the KHSAA to remove Pikeville from the 1A playoffs and have them play in another class. It’s just not fair unless they let all the other 1A teams combine to form one team. A good comparison I could think of would be if the University of Kentucky played NAIA football. The talent gap between Pikeville and every other 1A team is as big as it’s ever been

Congrats to Pikeville Panthers on this win. Going up against a good class 6-A School and winning is one thing, but putting a running clock on them is remarkable! Tbh, I was really surprised MC didn’t throw the ball no more than they did, but they do have a good run game. Just shut down by the Panthers more often than not. Good luck MC the rest of the way.

Lol! Red flames and all.

Buuuut. Madison Central beat PLD 29-28. PLD beat Russell by a score. Pikeville beats MC by nearly the same Margin Raceland beats Russell. Nothing makes any damn sense.

Well…..Madison Central did a nice job of taking away Pikeville’s #1 threat. Unfortunately that didn’t help. That’s the offensive diversity I’ve been dying to see. I know what Pikeville brings to the table defensively but if this offense keeps progressing, good night! Also can I say this might be the most physical defensive unit I’ve seen at Pikeville. They will literally knock your head off. Mark it down, no team in Single A is scoring 28 points or more on the Panthers, so that’s puts a lot of stress on teams…..Can you hold their offense to less than 28? If you can, you got a chance. If not, well the same fate that the last 4 teams have met will be in the cards for your team as well.
But Panther fans, I wouldn’t get the big head just yet. A huge test looming towards the end of the month, to me, what might be your biggest competitor will be rolling in with plans to spoil the party at Hambley.

Who’s rolling into Hambley at end of the month that might be their biggest competitor? The Bengals coming in or something???

I have no dog in the fight; but at mid-season……I’d say the Rams are looking at going as far as they can in the playoffs UNTIL they meet Pikeville. The VILLE might be good enough to win Class A-AAA at least.
#15
Most surprising thing about this game to me was that so many expected it to be close. Pikeville is really good and Central has not looked as strong as they were last year.
#16
Congratulations to the Panthers looked good tonight in all phases on offense. Defensively I thought they played good but think they had a few bad series but like someone said in another post these defense is good and hard to score on and as always GO PANTHERS!!!

Central is young on defense, and their best weapon has been banged up on the offensive side of the ball. This is kinda a re-build year, to be honest. They will be a load next year, but they are not the complete team this year that they were last.
#18
You also have to take in the effect that their best reciever and their best running back did not play in this game plus I think they lost one of the best defensive players also. Madison Central will be fine when all their pieces come back. I don’t know if it would have made enough difference to let them win this game because that would be all assumptions but definitely I think it would have been closer but as always GO PANTHERS!!!

Nice win Panthers.

Hail Pikeville!

Not kidding myself in the keast Jet. I said it earlier, Pikeville looks like the team to beat and at this point its not even close. What I am saying is scoreboard watching is useless!!! Going by scoreboards, Raceland/Pikeville is a good game right now. But going by the eye test, Pikevilles in a league of their own. Anyone who plays Pikeville at Pikeville is susceptible to a Running clock. No matter how good they are.

Did Pikeville ever pick up a 10th game to play this season?
#22
The Bengals have a bye: don’t they? LOL

Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone else in 1A

I was at the game. Pikeville is good but I’m not sold on how good. 6A is like the rest of the classes you have two or three good teams in each class and then it’s a hodge podge of whoever’s after that. Madison central is one of those teams. They are ranked 5th in 6A which means it’s like being 5th in any of the other classes. Madison central had some nice players but god almighty they were the most undisciplined team I’ve ever seen. They had about 500 coaches some of who were wearing jeans that I don’t know if they were actually coaches but it didn’t stop them from yelling instructions out to tue players on the field. They had 12 on the field numerous times. Kids would come out of the game and not tell anybody they were coming out and then they had to rush somebody on to the field at the last second. Their two best players were out tonight all though I don’t think it would have mattered. Any way it was an impressive win for the mountain putty tats. The boykins kid is scary fast!

The third quarter was just outright domination from Pikeville. Madison Central also wanted no part in tackling.

Very happy to see Carson get that big run. Kids been through a lot and was the next great RB at Pikeville until knee injuries bogged him down.

Pikeville is a well oiled Machine at this moment. I believe the 4th straight Running clock since starting the Season off with two very close loses. Once they figured out the Offense and started to tweak and add to it, oh boy things became evident that Pikeville is one of the top 10 teams in the State regardless of class maybe top 5 overall. My prediction is and it's no stretch to anyone's imagination is that they continue to put 3 more Running clocks on the teams remaining on the Regular Season schedule and then 4 more in the Playoffs. That would make for 11 Running clocks to finish the season after starting 0-2. Pikeville is about to start a Dynasty run. I'm saying a 5-8 stretch of Winning State Titles dating back to last Season. I just don't see them slowing down with the talent they have coming up from the middle school program and depth they already have on the roster. Hail Pikeville !!!!

I thought Pikeville would win, but not with a running clock!! The Panthers are a steam engine rushing down the track, dismantling whatever gets in their way!! The only team that beats Pikeville going forward is Pikeville!! But BE CAREFUL PANTHERS, we're all old enough to remember 2020, when Hazard had one of the biggest upsets state wide!! I don't look for it to happen, nor do I wish it either!! I'm just saying, things happen if your not careful!!

Sorry Class A!! Just when a few teams think this is their year, Pikeville rolls out a absolutely juggernaut. Loaded with senior talent and blended with young talent, this Pikeville team is a well oiled machine. I would put a 21 point spread on any team they face in class A.

Madison Central is NOT a disciplined team. To many playing for themselves, and having a “daddy” on staff does not help unity or team play. Congrats to Pikeville for giving Central a face full of humble pie.
