Can’t be helped.. they got whipped up up front and overcame turnovers and 22 or more bad snaps.. Very even game really. Extra points played a big factor. If hazard doesn’t miss the extra point then it’s a different outcome and route that Breathitt County would of took. Breathitt went into milk the clock behind there big offensive line. Hazard had to about basically let them score to get the ball back otherwise Breathitt milks the clock.. Hazard also needs to clean up the penalties ( killed them all season) and get more disciplined. But the season is early and you have to learn from those mistakes. You get better by playing better teams. If Breathitt plays the way they did against Hazard then they may end up 10-0 to finish there season. They should be even better next year.

Congratulations Bobcats!!

When Kyle Moore was in MS he ran the wishbone under John Paul Chapman. He was a bit undersized for a pocket passer. When he got to HS, Coach Holcomb spent countless hours on the field with him developing him into a great HS QB. Once Holcomb committed to getting into the spread- they won a state title, together. No doubt the bond there was and still is very strong. Maybe it’s time for the staff at Breathitt to set their own stamp on the program while Coach Holcomb is at Central proving he is still an elite coach in a job he has wanted on/off for years.

Those mid-90's teams went through some crazy good teams to win those titles.

Nice win Bobcats. I honestly felt like a Breathitt could got two more scores in the first half if they would stuck to the run game. Didn’t really need the two hellmarys to Sperry. But anyway congratulations. That was a big win for the program.

Should be a slobber knocker at PCC next Friday. Gonna say Perry by 12.

Haven’t seen or heard much from PCC. However, you are spot on about the two interceptions. One looked like the QB threw off his back foot, trying to hang in and throw before getting hit pretty hard. He is decently good in mid-range throws. The deep ball may not be the thing for this team; this year. Or maybe those were just two bad throws in isolation. The second one was into double coverage. Sperry probably climbs the ladder and gets that one if he were in single coverage.

We went to camp one year with Breathitt County at Jaybezz or whatever it's called down by Lake Cumberland during their prime run and they were a great group of guys but having to scrimmage them  several times that week was humbling lol.

That year we faced our toughest competition before the season even started.  They easily won state that year but definitely made us a better team.

Jabez- the third level of hell, but if you survived that week…..EVERYTHING, you did for the rest of the season was easy!!

People are quick to forget that Coach Moore took over and had to coach several years under state management. State management was really hard on Breathitt football. Things had been done a certain way for a long time and it worked. Anytime that changes and feeder programs are completely shutdown it takes years to recover from that. The Lumberjack kids are starting to make a impact now and the next few years Breathitt will have a chance to make a run at another title. They do have to find a QB for the future though.

My son went to Jaybezz as a Freshman and some things he wouldn't even talk about, like an old war vet. Lol. He did manage to win every single hill climb against other lineman (but he was 135 pounds at the time playing nose...). He just said those practices/scrimmages were hell and several quit as soon as they got back. He said quitting was dumb cause that was easily the toughest part of that summer practice. I think a couple of parents may have went and got kids that didn't come back until the next season. Tough stuff. I also have heard some pretty good (or bad depending how you look at it), fight stories down there. One at night, kids fighting in the woods, etc.. Lol. A different world is what that was.

Good win for the Bobcats. Need to stay focused until the whistle blows and cut out the BIG mistakes. Defense is definitely the strength of this team, love it.
