Great win for the Bobcats. Hazard was very undisciplined and in my opinion that probably cost them the game. Breathitt showed lots of heart and looked real good in the 4th with their power running.

Breathitt underrated.

Breathitt is still a year away but they could be dangerous until they meet the elite 2a teams like LCA or Beechwood.

Hazard is definitely undisciplined.. been that way for 3 games.. with traveling I didn’t get to fully watch this one.. I know he was ejected, just not sure what happen. Hazard probably should of had the Higgins kid at center after the ejection. I heard they had a total of 22 bad snaps. You can’t win the ball like that.

But two very evenly matched teams. Doesn’t matter how u score as long as u score. Breathitt County made the right plays to win this game.. Hazard just needs to keep working and be disciplined.. In close games they make or break you..

Congrats to Breathitt County though on the win.. the Hoskins kid at nose played big for Breathitt County. The good thing is Breathitt is young and will probably be even better next year.

Breathitt played a good game. There defense has improved drastically. Hoskins had a great game at nose guard. Played really well. Combs is a stud linebacker. Bryant did enough to win.

This one surprised me somewhat. I didn’t think Hazard would lose, but also I wasn’t really blown away with their two wins thus far.
I watched Harlan Co scrimmage and I also watched Williamsburg down at Corbin and saw how close they played Middlesboro. So my point? I wasn’t impressed at all with Harlan Co or Williamsburg so I assumed Middlesboro couldn’t be great. So those two mediocre wins for Hazard didn’t impress me. But I still think Hazard is a major threat in 1A. Congrats to Breathitt though, they seem like a program on the rise. I expect them to be very competitive in 2A the next few years.

Breathitt’s offense and special teams put the defense in bad positions.  But- this Breathitt team has improved markedly on defense- gang tackling and physicality.  Finally, switching to the wishbone; late, caught Hazard off guard and was highly effective.

Congrats- Coach Moore and staff!  Nice win.

I remember when Breathitt had some awesome teams...would be cool too see them get back to that level.

I feel the same way about Prestonsburg, I can't believe how far their program has fallen.

Went back and re watched this. As a Bobcat fan it was a good win over a very talented opponent. Defense stepped up big. Best game I have seen Coach Moore have in his tenure at Breathitt. Great move to put Hoskins at the nose he was a game changer. Throwing in the wishbone was great as well. I really like this look for the Bobcats. They have 2 or 3 really good backs, a big offensive line. Put Hoskins at end of line in 3 pt stance and split Sperry out wide. I would love to see more of this think it opens up all kinds of matchup advantages.
With that being said if I were a Hazard coach I would be embarrassed. They were undisciplined from beginning to end. You can't let your emotions get to you and get ejected no excuse for that. No excuse for jumping offside with game on line. Hazard is ultra talented but I see them as no threat to the big guys in 1a like Pikeville and Raceland if they can't clean up a whole lot of mistakes. To me that comes back to coaching.

This was a good game for Hazard; though.  Of course they took a loss, BUT- their coaches can go back and show their team how DISCIPLINE, most likely, cost them this game.  They also have a chance to develop some QB traps or other inside counters off jet sweep action which they will need when another good team commits to DE play and establishing the edge within the hashes.  Hazard has a lot of tradition and pride; I’m sure they will get better from it.

This was the best coached game I can remember from Coach Moore on both sides of the ball.

Hey, Coach Holcomb was at Breathitt 11 years before his first state title; and he had some great one and two loss teams that never even made the playoffs in the old system. He also had a 1-9 season; barely beating Knott in the final seconds. Breathitt has a good staff of several guys that played college ball and all work hard and are good to the kids. Maybe it is THEIR time to climb back up to the top tier of mountain football. Good Luck in that quest, Bobcats!!!

Breathitt wanted this one more. Both teams seemed pretty evenly matched, but around the middle of the 3rd you see Hazard start running out of gas while Breathitt shifted to another gear. That's the sign of a very well coached team. They should be very proud of their team in Jackson today.

We played them one of my years and we were a good team and I think they beat us like 40-0, damn they were good.
