Candy Thieves Leave Cell Phone Behind
#1
Burglars who swiped $30 in Skittles and Starburst candy from a concession stand at a Little League field in Crystal, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis, left behind a piece of very incriminating evidence.

Police discovered a cell phone inside the building.

Court documents say that sometime after the theft on the night of June 3, the owner of the phone called it and identified himself. Officers agreed to meet him and give the phone back, and a witness said the man was one of the burglars.

Nineteen-year-old Mitchell Scudder and 21-year-old Brian Current, have been charged with theft. According to court papers, a person witnessed one suspect crawling out of a window in the concession stand, and a second joining him. Both dummies dropped candy as they ran away.

While being questioned, Current was said to have told investigators that he waited outside while Scudder entered the building. A complaint claimed that the duo filled a knapsack with candy and ran away as a car drove by.

When officers arrived at Scudder’s home, he was enjoying his stolen Skittles. Twenty bags of were confiscated from the house and another 20 packages were discovered in a backpack, according to the complaint.

Damage to the concession stand was estimated to be $500 to $1,000.
