They have a pretty good QB that got lots of experience last year fighting off the wolves all season. The Setser kids got alot going for him too. How they gonna keep the wolves off the skill players this year after losing top notch linemen?

Wolves as in Wolf Co.? or as in being thrown to the...?

As being thrown to the wolves. sorry

I think they will have a good season this coming fall but, I think they should be a pass first team cause they have all kinds of guys that can go out and catch the ball ! But when you have a half back as good as Lincon Slone they will run the ball alot too ! So I'd say a 7-5 season ! Bobby Hughes I think will come out to be one of the top qb's this season too !

Hughes is to fragile, one big hit and he is gone. But he does have a decent arm.

I don't know about that, keep in mind he was only a Soph last year with very little varsity experience. He will have matured physically and mentally from last year.

I'd say if you wanted to one of those "top notch linemen" will put some pads on and let you get on the otherside of the ball?

That quarterback that they would "love to have" went 0 for 4 and wasn't within five yards of completing a pass at EKU

What I'm saying is P'Burg lost (through graduation) some really good linemen. One in particular. In no way was I demeaning the Sr. linemen. As you know, many teams will have good skill players or good linemen, but it's when you have both that you make a serious run to the carpet. (of course you also have to have a fair coach).

Let's be sure to keep on topic folks.

Wrong!!! If I'm not mistaken, he wasn't the one Qb'ing against P-burg. As far as the games that he did QB, every pass was pretty much right on the money!

WRONG ! He was the QB the first set against P-burg
but who cares, the kid is with you now and not P-burg !
Good Luck!

Hughes is not fragile..by any means..apparently you havent seen the hits hes taken in his high school career.:ChairHit:

I have seen first hand some hits that Bobby Hughes has taken and I didn't think he would get up but he did. I think its sad that somebody would get on here and talk about another kid being fragile especially adult.

That's pretty sad to hear from a former blackcat fan but i can see where some of the jealousy comes in at loosing ya know since bobby was the qb people get jealous and get all upset and say stuff that isn't true just like this quote from burnttires.....i've seen bobby hughes take bigger hits that i've took in my life and ones that i didn't think it was possible for him to get up from and he did bobby has a lot of heart and i think the only way that you are going to keep him down is if you break his back now belfry's qb i've know im forever and i know for a fact that he isn't half as tough as bobby hughes if anything he's just as fragile as bobby as burnttires describes him to be

Let's stay on topic, It's not a who's QB's more or less fragile P'burg's or Belfry's.
07-04-2006, 06:53 PM
OK, is this on topic? What kind of experience does P'burg have coming back on the line? Both sides Off. & Def.
They have some skill position players coming back, but I don't think they have the hard "get out of my way" runner in the stable.

Easy KILROY, yes that is on topic. Thanks for asking.

Prestonsburgs line will be just as good as anyone else's in the region ! Some will be short others will be skinny but those boys are brut's, and Very Quick !

Big question!! Can they beat Belfry???
