This will be an interesting hire.  I am leaning towards a hire like Clay Clevenger from Danville.   Idea

He would be a good one, if he is interested in living in that area for a long time.

You think he’d leave where he’s at? I don’t think there’s enough money in Johnson county to bring him here off that gold mine in Boyle county.

I think Justin Arms would make a fine coach, but from what I hear, he has made a huge difference in the way JCHS is being run as Principal. It really needed a change, we may need him more as Principal.

I’ve always heard that you can’t be a head coach and principal. That may be 100% inaccurate, but I’ve heard that for years.

Im pretty sure its frowned upon that a principal be a Head Varsity Coach...I tried to look it up in the bylaws but there's too many words in there for me..lol

I lose brain cells thinking about how they haven’t already made a hire. I know a few who’ve applied that would be more than great hires but they won’t wait around forever.

Because there is no rush for this hire.  The current staff have the offseason program under control and are JC guys.  Things will continue as they always have and eventually, when the time is right, and the right person is found, they will name a new HC.  Until then, business as usual.

I've heard the same thing, that you can't do both.  I was just saying that he is doing a great job as Principal from what I hear, HE is actually running the school.

I’ve heard that as well. I just brought up the head coach/principal deal because others in this thread have mentioned his name as being the next coach.

They are a disciplined football team. They don’t get very many penalties.

I work for Boyle County Schools and you can not be an administrator and hold a coaching position at the same time that’s how it works in our system not sure if it’s Boyle’s policy or the state’s .

Since you mentioned that, I believe that may be a local control decision.

Unless there has been changes recently that has always been a district by district rule. Although rare, there has been a principal or two that were head coaches in Ky while being principal.

Nope sure wasn’t, I can’t swear to it but was told that the gentleman in question that you saw in that video was actually from Johnson County before he moved to Boyle and became an administrator which he’s not anymore.

Is this what you would consider a homerun hire?

I never got a name, just the news that they were having a press conference tomorrow to announce the new head coach.
