What camps is your team attending this summer? Heard Belfry got their summer scheldule yesterday.

Well KCC is playing in the Hazard camp and maybe the Pike Central Camp..not sure on the Pike Central camp. All together I think we are playing 32 or 33 games this summer.

Found out Belfry is going to UT Lady Volunteers and Rowan County.

Has anyone been to the Uk womens team camp?

Who else will be in those camps?

At Hazard I know of Kcc, South Floyd, Buckhorn, Hazard, LCC, Leslie, and P-Burg.

The Pike Central Camp I am not sure of but most of the 15th teams are in it. TO be honest the KCc coach I think decided not to go to the Pike Central camp.

Thanks for the info!

Amanda Collins isn't taking the Belfry girls anywhere around here this summer. My opinion they should at least play in the Pike Central tournament, to see where they are at with the 15th region teams, Mark Gannon always had them playing in about every camp around here. I guess new season, new coach there's going to be a lot of changes. Goodluck this season Lady Pirates.

Why do the kids have to play 30+ ballgames a summer. I must question the sanity of this practice. It is no wander most players suffer burnout, and lose their enthusiasm for the "game" of basketball. Sure, let them work on their individual game during the summer by attending camps that stress fundamentals, but let the kids be kids! Neither the coaches nor the players need to spend that much time together...

I would think that playing games out of the region would only make the team better. IMO as well as many across the state, the 15th region overall is the weakest region in most sports, so why would you want to play only teams in that region all summer instead of teams that test your capabilities?

It is good that she is taking them out of the region. Mark always did too, but let them attend at least one camp around here. To test their skills with the other teams and see where they are at with the other teams but it's okay. Talked to one of the girls they have been practicing and so far everything is going good.

I, for one, am glad she is taking them elsewhere. And as far as the Pike Co.Central Camp, I would skip that one altogether. The new coach will be looked with much criticism and I think she should get her team together first and get them working good together. The girls all love her. I believe she will be okay, after the nerves are all out of the way, on her first game!! She was an excellent ball player both in high school and in college, so she does know the game.

the Aries summer league started at Raceland last night. It should be a good league. West Carter, Ashland, Greenup Co and raceland all looked pretty good.
