Harlan 61 Harlan County 55 (52nd District Championship)
#1
Final from Harlan.

The Green Dragons (17-5)  will go into the 13th Regional Tournament with seven consecutive wins as they snap the Black Bears' seven game winning streak.   Coach  Akal's  squad beat Harlan County both times the teams met this season.   Harlan County will enter the 13th Region tourney at the Arena in Corbin with an impressive 19-5 record.

They are more than capable of advancing in the tourney with one of the region's best in Jordan Akal.  They did have a mystifying loss to Lynn Camp and a close call with Barbourville that is concerning.

The win over Barbourville in the All A was a day or two after a long quarantine had ended. I think they had practiced only a couple of times. They have only had a couple of bad games all season.

Harlan County offense is not very good. There’s no ball movement and a lot of standing and watching. This team has multiple kids that can hit the three, but fail to utilize them. HC needs an over haul with the offense...needs to me modernized and less micro managing from the head coach. Hard to watch!!

Corbin , Clay , Harlan County   ???    What district winner wants them some of that in the first round?   WOW!!!   46-19  combined record.  Harlan County won @ South Laurel and has 19 wins ,  Clay trounced a very good Boyle Co. team and played North within a bucket, and Corbin played North close at London and beat Knox Central twice.  Any of these three teams could advance to the championship round.
