Are there any players in the 15th being looked at by college's around the state or nation in the class of 2007,2008, or 2009?
Any D1 material?
Any D1 material?

Only person that I think would be D1 eligible would be Landon Slone ! But he still has to mature and be the leader of that team !

The Hamilton kid fro Pike Central will make a solid NAIA player when his body matures and he grows a little, if he continues to progress, I can see alot of potential in him..a few others may play small college ball also.

McCarty from JC has an outside shot at the lower level D-1....MSU, EKU??
Slone has a very good shot and a mid-major D-1 and I think the Clevenger kid from Pikeville will have a chance but I think he is only going to be a sophmore next year. Pikeville also has a 6'8 kid that will draw some attention by the colleges when he matures.

I don't think anyone in the 15th has a shot to go D-1 at any level. Maybe some D-3 and NAIA in the bunch.

I agree

What about Spud Crum from Sheldon Clark. He will be a really special player for sheldon clark in the next 2 years. Now that BMay is gone, this team is Jaryds. I think he will open some eyes with his play next year.

Very few of those, too.

Spud is a good player in the 15th but to be a D1 calliber player you have to be able to hold your own/dominate against teams in the other regions. I think the thing that will hold him back is his size and the lack of good competition that many other teams face on a daily basis to improve their game. He may end up at an Alice Lloyd or Pikeville since that new coach has got it right and decided to get local players. If Brad Lowe or BMay aren't D1 material at the OVC level then I would say Spud's chances of playing there are extremly slim to none.

Guys, I just want to say that to play Division 1 you must have a great work ethic, play in a system that favors your style, and be a great player. Guys that sit the bench at D-1 schools were the stars for their high schol teams, so the competition is very fierce!!

Right now no one from the 15th is D-1 material yet!!!

I honestly dont believe that anyone in the 15th will be able to guard Jaryd Crum next year. He will score pretty much whenever he wants to. He has always had a great work ethic, and he can run for days. Currently he is playing AAU ball, i know his team had a tournament this past weekend. He told me that he played pretty good. I really think he has a shot to play D1.

As much as I would like to see Spud go, I just don't see it happening. But a lot of college coaches now days go the AAU route to get players, and talk more with their AAU coaches instead of their HS ball coach. Best of luck to him in AAU this summer and hopefully he won't have any injuries.

Alright Rasheed Wallace! LOL! Don't be going and making such bold predictions so fast. I know two boys in the 57th alone, that will have something to say about that. Jesse Meek (JC) and Daniel Pugh (PHS). Those are two pretty tough defenders to say that Crum will dominate. Don't get me wrong. I think Jared is one Heck of a player, but to say he will dominate who ever guards him in the 15th is just a little far fetched!

I think that before half the season is over next year, more names will be added besides Crum Meeks and Pugh. I look for a few underestimated players to make a name for themselfs real early in the season. But no, I dont think any single player on any team will dominate every team they play against. I think from game to game, different players will dominate a game here and there, but not every game or every player.

Nobody in the 15th can guard Spud he is too fast and can pull up on a dime and drain it from 20 plus. I don't know about D1 but I wouldn't rule it out. I know he'll bust his tail for the next 2 years and give himself every oppurtunity to make it.

From the bleachers Spud, looks to be around 5'6/5'7.

Alot of ppl is saying noone in the 15th will be able to guard this one or that one. That is good and they are good players but what makes them D1 is when they got away from here and if noone from say a good Lexington or Louisville school can guard them then we will talk. Look at Brad Lowe from Pike Central noone could guard him in the 15th last year and hes at Pikeville. Im not knocking Brad hes a great player but Im saying its alot harder to be Division 1 than you realize.
With Maynard gone for Belfry I look for Jamie Case to have a very amazing year. Hes a good ball player and has alot of range on his jumper. I look for him to end up at a NAIA school.

What exactly do you mean by dominate? Do you think he will average 20 plus per game next year, or are you just talking about double figures... I would like to know what your definition of dominate is...

Well King, I'm with you on that.

well, for all of you wondering, in my original post the word dominate was not used! so first of all STOP putting words into my mouth. secondly, i do believe spud will average 20 a game, because ABSOLUTELY NOONNE IN THE REGION WILL BE ABLE TO STOP HIM!!!
05-20-2006, 01:27 PM
Scoring when he wants to would defintley be in the same lines of domination.
05-20-2006, 05:33 PM
if thats the way you look at it, then spud WILL dominate. because he WILL score whenever he chooses to do so...

That makes it sound like if they ever lose a game it will be his fault because he didnt want to score enough. No one can score whenever they want, if so, then no one would ever miss a shot.

way to go bballonlyfan......nobody could guard micheal jordan, wilt chamberlain, or bill russel, but guess what, they lost games too...
05-20-2006, 10:03 PM
If he can score at will no matter who is guarding him.........I sure hope he averages more than twenty a game, thats nothing for someone who can score whenever they want!:notworthy If hes that good maybe you can ride his jock all the way to the state tourney and be a fan when he PICKS which D-1 school he WANTS to play for!
