Final from JCHS

Franklin County dominates most of the game, but JC found a way to make things interesting late. Reminded me of the JC games against CovCath and Highlands back before the realignment. 

FC has a very impressive team and a slippery QB. Very hard to defend.

Down goes goliath! Franklin County's coach said JC didn't know what was going to hit them and he was right! What a win for them and a lot of folks were wrong on this one. This is why you never look past opponents.

Great game, Franklin County. I expected FC's passing game to be outstanding but their defense was much better than I expected. FC defended JC's running game about as well as any playoff opponent that I can remember.

The last time I remember us being shutout in the 1st half was against South Warren in the 2015 state finals.... Franklin Co.'s defense was on point.

The last time we were held to 12 points in a game was in 2018 in the last game in the trilogy vs. Franklin-Simpson in the state finals.

Mentioned in the thread to not underestimate a team that put a running clock on Louisville Central. Also that JC didn’t get to see the normal teams they had been playing the past few years thanks to COVID.

Congrats to Franklin County. I thought they were a solid team all year and they proved they belonged tonight. They outplayed us and deserve a chance to play at Kroger Field.

I have to give our team credit for not giving up tonight and fighting to the very end. This groups of seniors have been unbelievable and they have nothing to hang their heads about.

What a run we’ve had at JC the last 5 years. From where we started when Coach Matney was hired until now is night and day. Coach Matney, all of the coaching staff, and the school deserve so much credit for what they have been able to accomplish. They have truly made Johnson County proud.

We will be losing a lot of great players off of this team next year. But I also have no doubt that this team will be right back in the thick of it next year.

I am thankful those kids especially the seniors got a chance to compete this year. Hopefully by the fall of next year the kids can have a normal Covid free season.

I will eat my words on this one. This Franklin team was very good. I had watched a couple games this team had played this year and to me they looked a lot better than Corbin on film. QB and #2 are very good. Good luck to the flyers at Kroger! Hate it for my eagles though.. Let’s run it back next year boys!
