I think that three years difference is ok til the person hits 16, then 4 or 5 years, then when the person hits 18, up to age 24 is ok.

I would not personally let my son/daughter date anyone older than they were at the time. Once my son/daughter turns 18, then I don't have much of a say in the matter. But up until then I do.

Most parents are at least 2, 3, or more years apart, and dated all through high school, yet people freak out today if anybody is that far apart and dates when they're young

That's not bad. And, I change my mind. If you're in high school, dating someone in high school isn't bad (seniors dating freshmen is stretching a little, but still ok), then once you hit 21, everything's fair game

There's a two year ago difference between me and my significant other but it doesn't make any difference in our relationship, it's great and it gets better everyday. The age difference makes them really protective over me which is a good thing...I like feeling safe in their arms.

I'm about two years older than my sweet thang.

Side note......For the most part men seem to marry younger women and vice versa. Most of the time it is because women mature quicker than men and they have to look "up" for companionship.

BTW.....I had to swallow a lot of pride in coming to terms with that.
