Final from Paintsville
First half was very competitive as the Tigers lead at the half, 14-12. Second half was all Paintsville. Hyden had a big game. The TD pass to Poe was absolutely beautiful. Huge game defensively for Lovely and James. Tigers offensive line come up big as well.
West Carter has a good team, just got outplayed tonight by a better team.

Different result if this one is played in Olive Hill or even a neutral field. Score did not reflect the game!

Definitely got a little Hostile on the visitors side toward the end. Kept hollering “meet me in the parking lot”. Not sure if they needed help with a dead battery, a flat or what exactly but Hopefully they got whatever it was, taken care of!

What did the refs do that dictated the outcome?
Cline was kept in check and Perry never done much through the air. Turnovers killed West Carter and Paintsville made them pay.

West does have better team the people give credit, but running back not as good as advertised. Passing game and defense little better then expected.

Another huge win for the Tigers over a team who has no football trophies, they are the master schedulers for sure.

I watched a live stream on Facebook by a Paintsville guy, so I can't really comment on any of that because I wasn't there to witness it. I know things got chippy late. But to me, Paintsville looked like the better team. 34-12 is misleading, because the gap isn't that much between the two teams, but Paintsville was the better team tonight. They done a great job keeping Cline from breaking any big runs and kept Perry in check through the air.

First off the personal foul was waved off because it wasn’t a personal foul. Paintsville DB timed it perfectly and hit the receiver at the exact same time that the ball arrived so there’s that. The phantom TD called incomplete was incomplete because by the time the receiver landed on the ground the ball was 5feet from him still rolling. Last play To end the 1st half, Paintsville takes a stab into the end zone just to have 2 West Carter DB’s grab the Receiver and throw him to the ground before the ball made it to him but we won’t talk about that “NO CALL”! The Good thing is, anyone can go back and watch this game online. Watch the so called “no call” personal foul and the final pass at the end of the 1st half and see what you think. As for my thoughts on West Carter, solid football team with good size. They have a couple speedsters. RB has a lot of talent but just spent most of his effort bouncing side to side and would have had more success getting upfield. QB has a STRONG arm but accuracy is an issue which left them having to lean on the run maybe more than they wanted. At the end the comet defense was just worn down and was having trouble wrapping up as you can see on the last big Phelps run. All in all, West Carter was a very solid team with some good pieces but just wasn’t able to match Paintsville’s level of play and that wouldn’t change no matter what field they played on! Going back and watching the stream would absolutely put that theory to rest.

You’ve always been a class act E! Even KNOWING what happened AND that there would never be, a coach on Paintsville’s sidelines that would ever hit a player, STILL doesn’t stop you from slandering. That seems to be one if the big differences with you and most others on BGR (including myself) will only post factual information! We all enjoy you stabs at Paintsville but At least keep em true!

I was directly above the play and seen nothing that would warrant a personal foul. Young official Standing near a violent hit, with an already Rowdy West Carter sideline, felt he had to call something. With his view being toward the back of the WC receiver, he was in no position to be able to see the initial contact from the front side of the receiver, which is why the head official (who could see the play) waved it off. Trust me, a JC Lead officiating crew is not going to Home cook ANY team for Favor of Paintsville. Which is why Jets comment about playing at Paintsville to anyone that actually knows is pretty funny.

2000 PHS there is a video of an adult in Paintsville gear shoving Ponder when he ran out of bounds in playoffs last year. Do you deny this?
This was a game that both teams needed and will benefit from. West Carter has a good mixture of skill position players and talented lineman. They aren’t going to beat any of the front runners in 2A but they are a solid team. WC showed Paintsville areas we must improve or it will be a repeat of last year.
Paintsville and Pikeville not being 1& 2 in the RPI is also an injustice.

Yes because there is no “tape showing an adult in Paintsville gear shoving Ponder” . I know you haven’t forgotten the thread on this last year. You were practically salivating over it when it was being talked about. There was an ex player that had graduated the previous year that was on the sideline from time to time and always stood in front of the cheerleaders and made sure they didn’t get ran over during the game. Ponder ran out of bounds and the kid stood firm. Could he have lessened the contact? Yes, but was it a coach/adult like you’ve stated? No! Would there EVER be the slightest possibility of a coach for Paintsville doing ANYTHING to a kid on an opposing team? Not a chance! Since then the young man has not been back on the field by his own choosing because it spun so far out of control, he said “the cheerleaders are on their own, he would not be there anymore”. Just saying, when attempting to slander a High-School’s coaching staff, it may be better to know exactly what is that your talking about. Could have possibly even went back and read the thread from last year.

West Carter losing points for playing a team like Paintsville makes no sense. West Carter isn’t near as the same level as LCA/Somerset/Mayfield/Beechwood but I do think they can win a region championship if they get a district champion other than Beechwood.
Paintsville and Pikeville not being 1& 2 in the RPI is also an injustice.

I agree WC would be the 3rd ranked team in 1A.

Or whenever WC recovered a Paintsville fumble in the red zone because the officials incorrectly ruled the runner down. 2 missed calls that gave Paintsville points. It is what it is. Two good teams were on the field last night. I think we saw a semifinal 2A team and a state championship 1A team.(10-18-2020, 01:06 AM)Patriot1 Wrote:(10-18-2020, 12:47 AM)Blue_Bird96 Wrote:I think Paintsville was the better team tonight and agree with what Blue-Bird said except the personal foul that was called and then waved off. The terrible spot on the 4th down where west Carter had the ball in the red zone. Countless missed holding calls. The touchdown west Carter scored that got called incomplete. The personal foul the officials decided to wave off after the Paintsville staff ripped them for throwing it. If anyone on here thinks the officials didn't effect this game then you didn’t watch the same game I did.
Which is why Jets comment about playing at Paintsville to anyone that actually knows is pretty funny.

check out the play at the 39.40 mark. You can clearly see Porter’s head to the left and Beside the receivers head. Right shoulder to Right shoulder. Tough to see from across the field in the visitors bleachers so I can understand.
