Frederick Douglass at Lexington Christian Academy

The game is confirmed and is scheduled at LCA on Friday at 7:30. It should be a good one. This below is from the LCA football Twitter.

I could not get the actual twitter picture to post but this is what is says.

This will be a great game for LCA. Great challenge and win or lose they get better by playing better talent. It is also great exposure for their program. You don't get ready for November by playing JV level varsity teams and pounding your chest becuase you run clock them week in and week out. Don't think for a second that LCA's staff won't have thier kids ready win...that's what great staffs do.

The game has been moved to Douglass to allow more fans to attend.

I hope they don't pack them in like clowns in a clown car.  Hopefully socia! distancing will be enforced.

LCA will defiantly have their work cut out for them.

FD will be too much in the trenches IMO. LCA is a heck of team, but I don't think this will be their night.
#10
I believe you will all be shocked by how close this game will be. LCA is legit. Their offense is a well tuned machine.

Running clock.

Was just curious what the mythical Cal Prep predication of the score would be- LCA 28 FD 24- I personally don't believe in a Cal Prep predication but I know some do on this site-interesting score.

This will not be a blowout, I fully expect FD to keep it close.

FD keep it close? you mean LCA keep it close. this is FD’s game to lose. LCA will have to play a near perfect game to keep up with Douglass
#15
LCA's offense is on a different level. They will put up enough points to win this ballgame.

LCA is an amazing team and holds a lot of talent, but c'mon now. We're talking about THE FREDRICK DOUGLASS. It may be close and not the running clock that everyone on here is saying, but the battle of LEX goes to FD in a battle til the second half.

A lot of LCA hype on here. Not sure I'm a believer at this point. Could be a lot of crow being eaten come late Friday evening

I don't see much LCA hype. Most everyone has FD winning big. Some are saying that LCA might be able to play with them or keep it close. FD is slated to be in the mix for a 5a State Championship. They should win this game. If LCA plays within 2 touchdowns, it should be a wake-up call for 2a. LCA will not play a team with more speed and physicality then FD all year. When Coach Charles took over the program a few years ago, he said he wanted to play the best. Iron sharpens Iron. Games like this are what make a team ready for a playoff run in one of, if not, the hardest district in the state. Looking forward to seeing how this game plays out. I think it will tell a lot about both teams.

Cobraxx well said. These types of games are November prep games. LCA playing on house money. Win or lose they benefit. I can guarantee you those boys from LCA will get off that bus ready to win.

like I said.....a lot of LCA hype. I'll be interested to see the film on this one

The fact Coach Charles played at Pikeville helped develop the iron sharpens iron mentality. He’s experienced it firsthand and knows it is tried and true. LCA will represent themselves well.

LCA goes to overtime with LexCath if the official throws the blatantly obvious offensive PI on the play before the game winning FG (penalty would've knocked them out of FG range). I know it is a big rival but I felt LCA would've looked a little better in that game. LCA pulled that game from the jaws of defeat, taking full advantage of two late LexCath turnovers.

That said, I believe LCA is a really good team and #1 in 2A at the present time (slightest of margins). Frederick Douglass should win this game by 20 though.

I am 110% anti-private when it comes to football and will always cheer for the public school, but I am hoping LCA has a good showing here so it will look better when the Jumpers kick some tail later in the year. If LCA keeps it relatively close here, it just shows how great this 2A district really is.

The game is being broadcast tonight on PrepSpin.

FD should win this one handily, but, most said the same thing before they played N. Hardin. I know they have a ton of talent, but, not buying all the hype on them just yet either. I think LCA will keep it close early and wear out in latter part of game, losing by 14 or 21, but, being more competitive than the score indicates.

This game will not be on PrepSpin. Fayette County has non-exclusive deal with the NFHS network and since this game is being hosted at Douglass, PrepSpin could not do their normal broadcast. They are going to use PrepSpin cameras and have announcers but you will have to pay for the game. PrepSpin and the schools did everything they could to have this game broadcasted for free.

Oh okay they had posted that earlier in the week and PrepSpin did the game North Hardin game at Douglass on Sept.11.
