How would you the start season?
#1
What would be your plan to start high school sports back up if you were the human in charge?

I'd release an alternate plan and make a decision to rotate seasons starting with the non contact sports first, KHSAA should be doing everything in their power to make sure every kid has an opportunity to play In the 2020 2021 season in the sport of their choice.
Start fall 2020 with non/low contact sports like Golf, Track, Softball & Baseball because most of these type competitions are being played with no issues.

Winter 2020-21 Basketball & Volleyball

Spring Summer 2021 Football, Wrestling and Soccer

Every sport could play a reduced schedule say only playing 75% of a regular season with a shorter playoff system, because of gym use. You could even shorten the games, close the mercy rule gaps in all sports, as long as everyone is playing with the same rules, it'll work.

If administrators knew today that they were playing baseball, softball, track and golf in the fall and so on they could be getting prepared, why keep kicking the can down the road shrugging your shoulders waiting to see what happens.

This Covid/Race/Russian issue (Just Pick One) isn't going away until Biden is President, then he'll confess to having health issues step down and VP will be the new hand picked President and so on and so on, then miraculously everything will return to normal, except for not having police, that's not normal on the upside - you'll be able to drive as fast as that little Chevette can go to the games. Pretty stinking smart of them if you ask me....HA

At this point I’d about rather them shut down everything so the following year goes well.

Don’t think there’s anyway to have the same sport in the spring and the fall (football). I think if we do have sports unfortunately football will be the sport that takes the fall. At this point I’d just like to see anything played.

My wish is that every liberal democratic fear monger would leave the United States. That way we could get back to normal. We don’t even have a cure for the common cold so how do some of you expect a cure for Covid 19 in the near future? I can’t believe that some of you are that stupid to shut down your lives and fall being the pied piper like you have. Pure stupidity is the only explanation and some have fallen for it hook, line , and sinker. They’ve ruined our everyday lives just to win an election.

I agree with you. I hope nobody tries to shame me into having a different opinion Smile

Baseball and spring sports took the hit this past season.

I see KHSAA not trying to make any rules to help for fall sports. They’ll let Andy look like the bad guy, and make changes for basketball.
#7
Will King Andy provide stimulus money for all the gate money lost from 2 straight non seasons? Club and travel tourneys about to take over, is that who we want in charge of our kids well being? Johnny make a team so his kid will bat 3rd and pitch and play short? Big time travel teams telling players to do online school so they can travel and practice during the school year. Don’t laugh if AAU and travel go on during the school year thus will happen.

So did anyone see what happened to Russell Co. All sports shut down for two weeks. This will happen over and over again. Nashville is making people wear mask full time even outside, Texas shut down the bars again, and Flordia shut then down as well. Now, I know Tennessee and Texas are Barton of liberialism but I could see the same thing happening here.

Now the question I have if say during a season team A has the virus and shut down does that mean a forfeit?
#9
You can argue/discuss all you want. IMO there won’t be football games played on any level.

They’re scared to death of him so why not let him take the heat. You never hear about the state retirement system anymore since all this Covid 19 BS. Has he fixed it? Hell no he hasn’t but it’s odd that there not protesting now. Their corrupt union got a Democrat into the governor’s office and the concern for the state retirement has vanished. Mission accomplished. Once the same corrupt Democratic Party gets control of the White House the concern over Covid 19 will disappear at all levels. Elections have consequences and look no further than right hear in Kentucky for proof. At one time the Democratic Party took up for the working people in our society. Now they represent all of the lazy asses who doesn’t want to work for anything and expect nothing but hand outs. If you’re an educator who wants to work from home and don’t want to return to normal you’re lazy butt is part of the problem. Our children don’t need you anyway.

Russell Independent has to shut down baseball and girls soccer for two weeks because of a positive case. The super had to make that call because of the negative response the district would’ve received from the local, state and national press who have been pushing all of the craziness down the people’s throats to further the liberal agenda.

Agree. As far as the teachers are concerned, they got what they ask for! Think this is a case where the grass is always greener on the other side. Either that, or they played it to where you "never let a good crisis go to waste". Now, everyone is stuck with this idiot for the next 3 1/2 yrs.

Schools need to check temps, symptoms and randomly test players. Do those things and you slow the spread, not increase it. Not having organized activities and letting kids roam the streets and hang out with friends and family increases the chance of spread.

Yea you got me. Maybe you’ll remember in November 2023!!!
Until then I don’t think there will be a football season this fall from little league to NFL. I sure hope I’m wrong. Cause talking politics and pension on BGR is sad.

Do you think having school and allowing kids to play sports spreads the virus more or less than if you just leave things the way they are right now?

I’m not sure exactly what your asking. If you were to go to a normal practice and normal school day I think the virus would spread 10x worse than now. I think there are so many unknowns with football. At sometime they have to start practicing to play. There have been a few schools stopping practice for 2 weeks with the precautions being taken. There are hundreds of scenarios why it will be very difficult to play, basically only one how we can play.

Do you think having school the way the governor has outlined (temp checks, symptom checks, masks etc...) and having practice/games the way the khsaa has outlined (temp checks, etc..) will spread the virus more than the way we have things now (kids out and about doing whatever they want with no temp checks, no masks etc...).

I don’t know what the governor has outlined for school, sports or what the exact rules are now. I know my wife’s school has 3 plans, normal, A B rotation and online. School or football Sept 1 will not be anywhere near normal. I don’t think there will be football at all. I believe what’s going on now with practice is just pacify everyone. My last post, I didnt get on here to talk politics and world wide pandemics. Have a wonderful 4th.

I want to get back to sports as much as anyone, but calling Beshear a fool seems odd when you consider the last guy gave away an election by not knowing when to shut up.

If and that’s a big if they play football don’t think it will happen until spring of next year and a shortened version, district games maybe a rivalry game too.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/what-is-r...82df1e2ef8

A recent study from China, published before peer-review, examined 1,245 confirmed cases and found that the vast majority of outbreaks were transmitted between people in a household. Cases acquired on transportation accounted for the second-highest number of outbreaks. Only a single cluster of cases appeared to have spread between people in close contact in an outdoor setting.

If the Pike Co bowl is cancelled Andy can go on and mark those votes off his list lol. KY needs Friday Night Lights. The ramifications of not playing because of fear of getting C19 is far greater than the virus itself. Mental health for players and parents will be a major concern. Then factor in the kids who need football to stay out of trouble and stay in school.

I posted about 2 months ago football would be played in the Spring.. Looks like it may just happen!!

Heard today from a higher up, that Football would not be happening in the spring because of the quick turn around to the next season- who knows, but that's what I was told
