Rumored and possible transfers in the 15th Region
#1
Manns to Pikeville and I know Paintsville got another forward from Magoffin Co is there any others to possibly look forward to happening...
#2
I don’t believe the Paintsville transfer will make a huge difference on the hardwood. He’ll make a difference on the field. Don’t know how many transfers were gonna see with how wonky this off season is and will continue to be.
#3
Anthony Palotta to Valley.

I’m hearing Hall kid from Pikeville could be coming to Betsy Layne his dad loves Derrick Newsomes system and he has been seen with a Betsy Layne girl as of late
#5
Haven’t heard anything about any pikeville kids coming. The Bentley kid who played at BL the season before last, then went to Valley is supposedly coming back for his senior season. Nice athlete, can’t do much else tho.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 so now a kid can't have friends and dads are suppose to cut all ties with childhood friends. Come on think about it y would he want to go to BL and struggle to get out of district when at Pikeville he should get to play at Rupp AGAIN. Guys before STARTING ANY RUMORS YOU WANT TO BECOME TRUE think about the logic behind it. NO kid will leave a winning program such as Pikeville especially a key starter to go to BL and struggle

Kids, unless you have NBA or high-level overseas potential, be loyal to your hometown and local high school. One of these days, you'll be in the real world and you can't just "transfer" to another job. Suck it up buttercup.

I don’t think that’s incredibly fair @jamesclay. If a kid wants to transfer for better opportunities, then I’m all for it. Where I went to school, we didn’t have great resources for equipment, didn’t have a large enrollment, and a lot of kids paid the price for it. I was one of the kids that stayed true, and stuck it out all 4 years. But I can’t blame any kid, or their family if they didn’t want to. Now if it’s a coaching thing, being to hard on them or something in that nature, I agree, suck it up. But not every kid has to stay “loyal” if there are better opportunities somewhere else.

Hey you're entitled to your opinion and I respect that. What are slightly above average high school players hoping to achieve with a transfer? Unless they find talent and work ethic at the new school, the results will be similar. Also, the grass isn't always greener.
#10
If a slightly above average high school player goes from a small 1A school with no resources and no help on his team goes to a bigger school and is a good teammate even if he’s not scoring as much or whatever the case my be. Then I’m all for it. Do I enjoy watching top level kids go place to place all because they want to, no. But there are circumstances where it’s justified in my opinion. I do respect your opinion as well.

I promise NOBODY wants that to be true. His dad already cut ties years ago, he’s just blind to it. People listen to him for the entertainment. Let them be legends at Pikeville. He needs to stay where he’s at, might get him in a small school like Wake Forest 😂

This is the last time I will address this on a website. If you have any issue with Halls parents I can get you in touch with them instead of hiding on BGR.

Hall and Samons for that matter haven’t put on a BL Jersey since the 5th grade. That’s before middle school. Hall started Kindergarten at PIKEVILLE and I believe SAMONS was at PBurg. They came together in 2nd and 3rd grade at BL. They left in 5th grade. Yet they are still tied to BL for what ever reason according to ppl on this site. If NOBODY wants them back then can we please stop with the rumors every other week about them returning. Ppl on this site seem a little obsessed with them coming back or talking about that situation in general. I promise you they will never put on a BL Jersey ever again. So can we please move on with that.

I also promise you that the work ethic and connections that Coach Justice has already put those kids in a better situation after high school than anyone at BL could have done.

So if you have any issue with Halls parents I can get you their number. Can we stop with the rumors every other week about Hall playing for BL. It’s never going to happen.

If NOBODY wants that to be true why is they're new accounts popping up every other week saying "man I heard hall is coming back to to bl" face it guys you people on the HILL are foaming at the mouth hoping and praying he comes back just so you will have that player to help you get out of the weakest district in the state might i add that you can't get out of. And his dad never cut ties with friends " coach Newsome, they grew up together" he cut ties with crybaby parents who want their kid to be the superstar and a LEGEND ON THE HILL ( what has that ever gotten anyone) he's all about winning and succeeding in life and he got away from the negativity and selfishness years ago. And I promise you the legends at Pikeville will blow the doors off those on the hill that you love so much if they play this season. Those 2 kids that you dream of returning will be hour biggest nightmare there Sammons may go down with the best scoring performance in junior Newsome arenas short history and hall might break all the other records for a single game " let's be real wouldn't be that hard they could probably do it on a off night " and yea you're right he needs to stay where he's at. Compete for a regional title and get a offer to excel at the next level. I forget tho how many people in the last 20 years has BL got a scholarship for in any sport for that matter. Not many colleges want a player who can't get their high-school team out of the weakest district in the state. When was the last time they won a regional i forget 🤔🤔🤔 so how about this. You people on the hill just forget about the whole Hall situation because face it he wouldn't wear that jersey again if his life depended on it and start focusing on winning because track record states this year is starting like every other year. Great summer every1 working hard then when games start so do excuses and at the end of the year getting put over pburgs knee and spanked in the 1st round of district. Instead of focusing you're energy on hall and off-season hype focus on winning and maybe just maybe you might make it to regional this year as a district runner up.

Yeah... I don't know about this one jamesclay. When I was in school I had neighboring coaches asking me to transfer to play for them and I would have in a second, but my parents wouldn't allow it for nothing. Probably would have been a totally different outcome had I transferred. So, when I got into the workforce, I wasn't about to "stay loyal" to my employer for the sake of being loyal... I changed jobs until I found one that was the right fit for me and it has worked out wonderfully. You gotta do what you think is best for you, not stick around and be loyal... cause there isn't any hometown or local high school/coach going to stay loyal to you.

Technology has made it possible to have friends all over the country. It's not unusual for kids to have friends in the local counties. Especially if they play sports. These kids compete in travel teams and they get to know each other at ball games and through social media. Just because Hall may have a girlfriend or a friend at another school doesn't mean he's going to transfer to that school. Hall is also a good kid from an good family, there's no reason to cause rumors that will upset them from no good reason, these are kids, why be so negative and judge everything they do? Makes no sense to start a rumor.

The Bentley kid is super athletic and competes in multiple sports. Been to State in a few of them if I recall correctly. Not sure what he can't do much more tho. means. He's a great kid from a good family, shouldn't be negative about kids, no reason to say something semi nice and then throw in a but.........

I don’t know if you know this or not, but we’re in a basketball thread smh. The kid is a very good athlete but can’t do much more in terms of BASKETBALL. I don’t personally know his family, nor do I want to. Not a jab, just an analyst on his BASKETBALL skills.

I’ve seen him play at Shelby Valley last year as a Junior on the JV team very good athlete and can jump out of the gym but no jump shot can’t play defense without fouling and is very uneasy with the ball in his hands, so I can see why he didn’t crack the rotation for the varsity...

I am aware this is a BASKETBALL thread.... My point was why be rude and mean to kids, they are kids I'm sure they are aware of any shortcomings they have. When they read negativity about them by someone who probably doesn't even pick a basketball it hurts their self esteem. What's the point of doing that to a kid, they are hard enough on themselves as it is. Post positive things and leave the coaching to the coaches. That was my point....

It’s not being “mean and rude” it’s being truthful. He is a good athlete, but not a very good basketball player. If he works really hard over the summer and proves me wrong, good for him.

I only saw him play one game with JV at Valley at Pike Central. He had double digit points and rebounded with the last few seconds of a tied game, got fouled and won by 3. That was just one game though can't check stats on a JV game sadly. Just felt like some of these kids were being put down that bothered me, wasn't meaning any disrespect to anyone, especially a child.

Nobody is disrespecting the kid. Do we really live in a society where on a basketball thread you can’t analyze a kids basketball skill?

Yea but what I’m saying he is a Junior playing against Sophomores and Freshmen he should have dominated but didn’t.

Like I said earlier; if he proves me wrong so be it. Kids usually don’t improve from a athlete only in their Junior year, to a great player his senior year. Good luck to him tho

Kids need opportunities and I think he will get that. I think he will prove you wrong. Kids can improve at any age, just like adults can...

We’ll have to wait and see I guess, assuming he gets the playing time he expects and assuming we have a season to begin with.

There should be a season. From what I hear, football will most likely be limited to first come first in, they are on a wait and see how things look when the season starts basis. I hate the sprig sports were canceled last year, hurt a lot of kids with baseball and track, especially the seniors. Going to be a good year if they do get to play a somewhat normal schedule.

Exactly. If your basketball program has to play juniors on your JV then your program is in trouble.
