Think a family issue, but I think most Hazard people had doubts last couple of months, Grizzle was in Hazard on January 17th for the announcement at the high school in front of a big crowd. To my knowledge he has ONLY been to Hazard once since then. He had to finish the year at Greenup.

Fair enough. I know some things can't be helped and you have to do what's best for your family, just was curious because this is a career defining move IMO.

I heard they went for Jordan Aims, and he turned them down. I’m not sure if Coach Thacker wants the job. I was told there wasn’t a lot of interest in the job back in December and January.

Chappell turned them down in December and I think his wife likes it where they live. I actually am hearing Ovie Canady’s name being thrown out there

I don’t know Grizzle. Not judging the man. Some things I’ve heard from very reliable sources seem quizzical to me. Why had Grizzle only been to Hazard once since January 17th? Did he not think it would be a good idea to get acquainted with the community and his players? I get that the pandemic was going on and that limited his ability to do much. But, what about the nearly 2 months between his press conference and when the quarantine was put in place?

I heard that a guy outta campbell co was on the list of great possibles, Chappell asked for more money than could be offered when he turned it down, Thacker is a strong no he was just put on staff as a personal favor to a former coach. Asher sees through him - Character and ethics issues galore - I look for the Amis's to control the hire either way.

Shawn Thacker should be the HC. He’s got plenty of experience and I think he’d be a good fit for the community.

The same Thacker that ran the PCC program to the ground? Hasn't he been fired from several jobs in the last couple of years for misconduct relating to character? 3/4 schools in 2-3 years. (Caverna,Taylor,Berea) - Sexual misconduct, theft, contributing to minors. Not sure that we want that here.

He would, and it would help the whole situation. Right now has to be a great time to be Coach Dixon to get some old players that knows his system.

I will say this though I'd rather coach Hazard than a lot of the bigger mountain schools that just can't win in the large classes. Someone will luck in to a good situation in all this.

Hope they do not get in a hurry and make a bad choice. Hiring someone like that for the job would be program suicide becasue experience or not it would be a bad influence on young men

This is the first I’ve heard anything negative said about Coach Thacker! Do you have any proof of these actions?

I ain’t saying it did or didn’t happen without some proof, but he coached my son last year and was great on and off the field. I wouldn’t have any problems with him coaching him again. We hated to see him leave. I’m not sure how he could have coached last year because i know they did background checks with anyone associated with that program and he wouldn’t have been there if there had been problems.

just told that if they dont find one soon that adminsitration will step in and do the job until its filled. Chirico is agreeing to talk but not looking good but they did say they have nobody on coach staff now thats being considered at all and yea we need a coach
