A semifinal game that might as well have been the final as two of Louisville's best were again loaded with college talent. Kentucky signee Izayah Cummings leads the Bulldogs against Bob Beatty's Shamrocks.

1998 - Breathitt County vs. Pikeville - Pike County Bowl



Eventual Class 2A State Runner-Up Breathitt County meets the eventual Class A Semi-Finalist Panthers in Pikeville.

2016 - Lexington Catholic vs. Boyle County



Before he donned the Mountaineer's navy and gold in Morgantown, Reese Smith and the Boyle County Rebels took on future Kentucky commit Beau Allen (freshman), future Louisville Cardinal Jack Fagot, and Lexington Catholic on the Knights' turf.

Pikeville tops the undefeated Williamsburg Yellowjackets at Hambley in Overtime after an improbable drive to tie the game late. It would be Chris McNamee's 3rd Region Championship at his alma mater.

Pikeville trailed Harrodsburg at the Half, but a spark on the opening kick in the 3rd Quarter would be what the Panthers needed to repeat as State Champions in Class A.



Kentucky's 1st ever Back-to-Back-to-Back Champions as Hillard Howard & PHS defeat Trigg County to win the 1989 Championship.

1991 - Fleming Neon vs. Evarts - Class A Playoffs First Round



Two now defunct schools go to war in Fleming-Neon's first playoff game since the 1960's. Evarts was led by the rushing of Scott Russell, who was eventually crowned Mr. Football and broke what was, at the time, the State rushing record.
