Things kinda a mess in Tiger town. I am hoping Little A gets a shot with a decent team next year if Glenn decides to retire. I'm thinking it's gonna be the last chance for the tigers to make a run as the future looks pretty rough. It's kinda obvious the way it has been done does not work.

Iâve heard nothing but great things about Coach Hibbard but Iâm not sure I wouldnât try to hire an outsider for once, at least someone with more experience. I keep hearing Clay is gonna run out of athletes but it hasnât happened for as long as I can remember, some classes may be down but the Tigers wonât be down for long...

An outsider would be the best choice but itâll probably never happen. Just look at Gray, based on his resume who else would have hired him as head coach? Heck, what experience do the ones making the decisions have? Something needs to change though.

My heart hurts for our county and itâs fans who bleed black & gold. Some kids deserved better and some kids got just what they wanted. Kudos to the players who did things the right way. The truth will stand when the worldâs on fire and film most certainly does not lie (unlike some folksâ social media posts). I just wonder what those sitting on the bench thought as they witnessed the actions of some players (especially during the Barbourville game at The Arena)??? There were âsomeâ good examples/role models to follow, but will their youth allow them to discern the good from the bad? Only time will tell. Not a Gray fan, but not a Marcum fan either. NEITHER could manage the egos of certain players/families (and in some instances...both). Anthony Hibbard needs his shot next season or I see him stepping away from the program because he is an honest man with morals. After four years, itâs self evident the remaining assistants are âride or dieâ with Gray. Hopefully the light will drive out the darkness before there is no wick left to light.

I just have a stupid question... What has Hibbard done to deserve this job? Great guy, never been a head coach, was a assistant under Brad Sizemore does this qualify as a Clay County boys head coach? If so their standards have went way down. I think they last person they hired like this was... Oh, Glenn Grey and howâs that worked out? Hire someone proven for that job.

Not a stupid question at all. Just wish the same concern was given when Gray was hired. As far as Hibbard is concerned...he holds players accountable for their actions, can relate to kids, promotes student athletes, knowledge of the game, develops talent, builds team unity, etc... Are there others who are more knowledgeable of the game and have a proven track record...probably so, but will/would they come to Clay (especially now)? Iâm only going off observations from the stands watching him coach the JV. He demands the best of his players and they respect him for it. They have faith in his ability. Heâs a CC product is why I like him. I just pray âthe powers that beâ weigh all options next time a hire is made....no matter who it may be.

Of all the qualities you mentioned Gray has none.

First, there needs to be a concerted effort to make Gray resign. His ego will will make that difficult because I think he and his constituents will always blame the kids before he takes the blame...which is the opposite of what should happen. The players are simply a product of their coach. If a change isnât made soon, it will be too late to make things any better...if it hasnât already reached that point. How many parents would have approached Bobby Keith during practice, after a game or God forbid at halftime of a game about anything? Until that type of discipline is restored, the program will suffer...and please donât respond with the âtimes have changedâ crap. Yes, they have because society and people like the current coach have let them. Again, as I have said before, Clay has an elementary school coach with CYC level assistants(puppets). Obviously Hibbard may be an exception as he isnât part of the old regime. If no one cares enough to force the issue then no one really cares about the program.

Just a few thoughts on the above posts. First, I think little A would do alright with the job, but its probably to late as clay county basketball is bad right now and will get worse in the future. I think even if they got an experienced coach, he would even struggle AFTER next year for a long time. Glenn and his buddies that hired him has destroyed the program. Still hard to believe they ran off the best coach we ever had since coach Keith for a grade school coach. #politics
