1. Martin County (has beaten top tier teams down the stretch and not loss to a region for since All A.
2. Paintsville (All A run)
3. SV (no impressive wins of late, but still have the best player in Potter. They’ll go where he takes them.
4. Pikeville (hindered by injuries, but nice wins over my #5 and #8, plus a close game with a good South Laurel team.
5. Lawrence County (14 point win over my #7. No wins or losses of note. Big game against JC on the 21st.
6. JC (10 point win over my #2, but losses to Martin and Magoffin drop them a little in my opinion.
7. Phelps (has not played a lot of the top tier teams, but consistent against the middle of the pack).
8. ER (hung with my #2 and 4 until the final horn. Good win over Magoffin right after they just beat JC
9. Magoffin County (nice win over my #6)
10. Belfry (struggles of late with only wins over unranked Pike Central and Betsy Layne)
#4

Also Pikeville has a win over your number 1 as well in the All A. This Region is wide open and will be a fun tournament.

Very true!

As of today this is how I would rank the top 7 teams I think could make a deep Region run and possibly win.

Rank. Team. Notable wins/losses

1. Martin County - Wins over JC x2, Paintsville x1, Valley x1, Lawrence x2. Losses to Paintsville and Pikeville once.
2. JC - Wins over Valley x1, Paintsville x1, Pikeville x1, Lawrence x1. Losses to Martin County x2 and Paintsville x1
3. Paintsville - Wins over JC x1, Valley x1, MC x1, Lawrence, 1, Phelps x1. Losses to MC x1 and JC x1
4. Valley - Wins Pikeville x3. Losses JC x1, Paintsville x1, MC x1.
5. Pikeville - Wins MC x1, Lawrence x1. Losses Valley x3, JC x1
6. Lawrence - Wins Phelps x2. Losses Paintsville x1, JC x1, MC x1 and Pikeville x1.
7. Phelps- No wins against my top 6. Losses to Pikeville x1, Paintsville x1, LC x2.

Reason I have JC over Paintsville even tho Paintsville has the 2 seed in their district is because I think JC win over Pikeville is more valuable than Paintsville over Phelps.

Obviously we have a week left in the season and some of these teams play each other so this list is subject to change before District tournament depending on how the games play out.

I believe my top 5 can win the Region tournament depending on the matchups and LC and Phelps could spoil someone’s party.

Martin County will not win due to a lack of coaching and players. They have no bench players. When different referees are calling their games you will see a different result. They have peaked way too early.
#8
Come on man , Martin has won 4 games in a row playing good basketball. You never have a kind word for them . Enough is enough.

Makes sense to me. At 37 I can’t remember the 15th being this even. Can anyone enlighten me?

Lack of coaching? Let's see beat valley☑️ beat Paintsville ☑️ Beat JC twice ☑️ Beat LC twice ☑️. 10-2 in the region and 5-1 in the district sounds like pretty good coaching to me.

This region is so crazy wide open
I have it like this with any of these team listed being able to beat anyone on the list

1.Martin County ( red hot right now)
2. Valley
3. Paintsville
4. Johnson central
5. Pikeville
6. Lawrence co
7. Phelps
8. Betsy layne

Only 3 of your top 4 will make the region I got it like this

57th
W-Martin co
L- Johnson central

58th
W-Lawrence
L- Betsy Layne

59th
W-Valley
L- Pikeville

60th
W- Phelps
L- Belfry

Watch for East ridge and pbrug being upsets possibilities against Pikeville and Betsy Layne
Although I think they win a close game between Martin Co and Magoffin wouldn’t surprise me at all. It’s gonna be a wild ride can’t wait

I think the top 4 are the titles contenders but anyone of these teams can make a run.

Not good coaching. This is the weakest the 15th region has ever been. Martin County does have better players then the other schools from 1-5 but only 1 kid coming of the bench will not cut it come tournament time. As far as a troll, when the tournament starts and MC loses in the early rounds then I will accept your apology and listen to your “ We will be better next year”

You’ll get no apology from me, I just can’t get over your constant downing of MC. Haven’t you learned your lesson yet?
#15
Seems you have a personal thing against MC. Sad that an adult is always out to down a bunch of kids that are just playing a game. Whatever makes you sleep better at night

I think any of Shelby Valley, Martin County, Paintsville, Johnson Central, & Pikeville are capable of winning the tournament. And 3 of 5 will have a tough time getting to the Regional Tournament.
#17
What lesson? I have a right to my opinion just as everyone else. Just because I don’t say everything is rainbows and unicorns in Martin County shouldn’t get you bent out of shape.

Seems like everyone agrees on who the top 5 teams are. Here's the updated tally of how each of the top 5 has fared against each other:

Johnson Co. = 3-4 (0-2 vs Martin, 1-1 Paints, 1-1 Valley, 1-0 Pike)
Martin = 5-2 (2-0 vs Johnson, 1-1 Paints, 1-0 Valley, 1-1 Pike)
Paintsville = 4-2 (1-1 vs Johnson, 1-1 Martin, 1-0 Valley, 1-0 Pike)
Valley = 4-3 (1-1 vs Johnson, 0-1 Martin, 0-1 Paints, 3-0 Pike)
Pikeville = 1-6 (0-1 vs Johnson, 1-1 Martin, 0-1 Paints, 0-3 Valley)

Based on this, you would have to give the top spot to Martin Co, with Paintsville close behind at #2. I would put Valley at #3, with Johnson right behind them. Then Pikeville slots in at #5.

I could still see any of these teams beating any of the others at regionals, though. Despite Pikeville having only a 1-6 record against the others, they own a win over the #1 team in Martin, and both their recent losses to Martin and Paintsville were each by only 1 point.

After the top 5, I could put the next several teams being ranked in any order. They could easily win a game at the Expo, but I don't see them being able to win 3 straight to take the crown.

I agree 100%...teams like Lawrence, Belfry, Phelps, BL, or even ER (if they pulled off a first round upset in district) could pull one off at the Expo, but 3 in a row is tough...

Lawrence is the 1 seed in their district. I don’t think, if they win their 1st round game, it would be considered a upset.

Depends on who they draw. If they win their district they will get a district runner-up. If they draw the 59th runner-up (probably Pikeville or Valley) or the 57th runner up (could be Johnson, Martin, or Paintsville), I would say that it would be an upset to win the first game. If they draw the 60th, then I agree they would be favored.
