Games you WOULD like to see in 2020
#1
I would love to see Mayfield play Belfry. I think it would be a great game.
Pikeville and Mayfield would be a good one too.

Give me your games you would pick to see if they played.
#2
I'm with you!! Belfry/Mayfield would be a barn burner and both fan bases travel so well, I would expect a great crowd.

Same with Pikeville!!
#3
Would like to see LCA/LexCath play all of the Fayette County public schools. Frederick Douglass would be the only school that would compete IMO
#4
Williamsburg versus Oneida (TN). Programs are almost mirror images. Same colors, same small school winning tradition, and good fan support. Makes less than zero sense that they don't play considering that it's only 29 miles between the two schools.
#5
Corbin/Bell for me it’s a fun rivalry.
#6
Somerset/Belfry, Pulaski/Pikeville, Johnson Central/Trinity

Tates Creek almost beat LexCath this year. You'll get at least one of the pubic schools, besides Douglass, capable of competing each year.
#8
Johnson Central/ Covington Catholic, Pikeville/Somerset,Boyle/Corbin now especially and Belfry/Pulaski.
#9
Johnson Central vs. Pulaski :These two teams are usually duking it out for D1 in middle school. I think carrying over that in the high school ranks would be fantastic.

Somerset vs Oneida : Another poster made mention of the matchup with Williamsburg and I like that game too. I have family connection with Oneida alums so this one is more for personal reasons.

Corbin vs Mayfield : the neutral game location at a Lindsey Wilson was one of the best games I’ve witnessed. That needs to come back. I know that’s a travel issue but it was a great matchup.

I agree and it’s good for both teams...I talk a lot of trash to Bell Co fans and want to win every time we play them but have some close friends that are as passionate Bobcats as I am a Redhound...That being said I don’t see it happening anytime soon...
#11
I have to say as a corbin fan, I want the neutral site with mayfield again. After that I’d love to see a home and home with bell. I would put that first except the rivalry has been one sided the past bit. I would also like to see a 6A loserville school do a home and home with an EKy powerhouse.

The pigskin is a top class event for teams and fans. I’d love to see some of those matchups in it. We’ll see how the new staff arrange it. Haddix wasn’t afraid to play anyone that would play. That’s one thing I loved about him

Johnson Central/Cov. Catholic Belfry/Mayfield Pikeville/Beechwood
#13
Pikeville/Corbin Belfry/Highlands Johnson Central/Bowling Green
#14
Pikeville vs. Johnson Central

I just like seeing schools with 500-800 students beat those with 2000 enrolled

I would like to see Belfry play Louisville Louisville Trinity and De LaSalle out of California so they would get some competition.

Hahaha. I detect the sarcasm. But you’ll get someone on here being serious as h€ll about it.
#18
Paintsville Breathitt
Ashland Lex Cath
Cov Cath Male
#19
The Apple bowl Paintsville and Johnson central
#20
Corbin vs Boyle
Johnson Central vs Somerset
#21

I see that you are a fan of first half running clocks.

I would like to see Belfry play the following teams.

St. Thomas Aquanis - FL
Indianapolis Cathedral
Cincinnati Colerain
Hoover High - Alabama
Permian High - Texas

Just maybe Belfry will get challenged a
little bit.

That could be interesting too. Middle school football can give us a glimpse of the future. I remember a time when Belfry and Highlands did play in the early 90's. Great football when they played in the PCB, followed by Pikeville/Beechwood in the nightcap.

Definitely. I miss those old PCBs. How awesome it would be to have those same 4 teams on the same field the same night for a PCB again, but alas, all good things must come to an end to due to humans messing them up...

yeah
2014 Belfry 42-17
2015 Belfry 42-14
Defensive CO better learn to stop the counter before you schedule this game.

Yep. Imo, that may have been a classic case of 'if it works don't fix it'.
