Williamsburg 71 Whitley County 67

Final, the fab freshmen Mahan and Keene put Whitley on their backs but couldn’t pull the upset. Colonels going to be a good team this time next year and should be a district contender.

So you think Overstay could possible win his 1st district tournament game EVER next year? His 10th year.

If this bunch stays together I’m saying yes, very talented group of freshmen. However they are going to have to play better teams in order to get better, playing 80% of your schedule against all a school’s when your a 5-a is embarrassing and doesn’t help the growth of your players. Then again I could be wrong but I really do like the overall talent of this young team.

They've gone out and got good football and baseball coaches.. think it's time to do the same with basketball

If Whitley needs a new HC in next couple seasons, two names:

Dinky Phipps or Diamond Dave

It's no disgrace for WCHS to play All A Classic teams like Williamsburg, Barbourville, Harlan, Lynn Camp, Middlesboro, or Somerset. I'd hope that the schedule heavy on schools like Model, Jellico, Cumberland Homeschool, J. Frank White, and Red Bird is a one time deal since they're so young this winter.

That is what a was referring to was the lower end a teams. They play Jackson City tonight and I am assuming they are a small school. They need to have Clay, Knox, Wayne, Mercer, Pulaski, teams like that on their schedule to get better. Agree they basically was playing with a jv team this year but the talent is there and excited about the next 2-3 years.
