Does anyone know if free throw count was 38-8 in favor of KCC, that is what someone posted on another thread. Surprised the game was this close if KCC shot that many free throws.

38-11
Was the count
But Wolfe shot 23 threes
Donât get fouled much when you shoot from behind the line.
Knott shot 39 two point field goals most goin to the rim.
Far as the guard fouls there was a lot of holding and reaching that caused most of those.
Knott was up by 20, Wolfe was fouling to get back in, almost did!
Down low, Knott didnât get to the free throw line.

Wolfe had 11 free throws what stats show on khsaa website. Knott has not put stats on khsaa yet.

Well, 38-11 would be pretty incredible, if thats true. But, the person who posted that probably made some sort of mistake, I guess when KCC posts stats we can see. Thanks for correction.

One word describes the game last night! BIAS!! What a joke, cheating kids out of a basketball game is a poor way to earn a dollar.

KHSAA stats indeed show KCC shot 38 free throws to Wolves 11. Why didnât they just call coach Creech before the game and let him know there was no use in driving all the way to Knott County? The game was already decided before the wolves loaded the bus.

I donât think 2 of the refs made 5 calls each. The other guy called almost every foul on Wolfe. Wolfe couldnât put a hand on Knott all game and Knott bodied Wolfe up on every drive. I donât cry about refs after every lose and as I said earlier Knottâs a good team that can beat Wolfe in a straight up game but last nights game was anything but straight up. The guard for Knott flops like a fish out of water as soon as someone gets around him and he got every call last night. I hope this isnât a sign of things to come in the region.

Knott shot 38 free throws you can look for yourself on the stat sheet Damron shot 17 himself. More than the 11 Wolfe shot as a team.

They donât call him bobble head for nothing. I said on here a long time ago one of the best floppers too come through this region in a long time and I have seen a bunch he shot 17 free throws himself more than the entire Wolfe team

Knott keep shooting free throws like that they will definitely be the team to beat at home. Hazard thinks it’s their year but I could see their dreams go down in flames at the free throw line.

15th region refs are calling 14th region tournament this year. That is what I have heard.
02-10-2020, 11:04 PM
Well the ref that called all the fouls came from the 15th region this year. Lol Knott must have wanted to get a early start. Luckily he canât call in the region this year.
02-10-2020, 11:19 PM
Knott averages 14-15 free throws a game while Wolfe averages 11-12, quite interesting for Knott to shoot 23-24 more than their average.

Good news for Knott bad news for some others . If they call it Knott has to be the favorite hands down.

The refs name is Dale Conn. He came over from the 15th. Donât know why he moved, maybe he came to the 14th to teach the other refs the proper way to call a game.

The only thing he he will teach them is some bad habits. If 15th calls the region Knott wins mark my word.

Knott Co plays at North Laurel tonight and at GRC Friday night, will be interested to see what the free throw count is in those games

Heâs called some pretty rough games, especially when heâs blowing the whistle when Wolfe is playing.

Interesting fact is Conn is kin to "Brown Sugar" through the Floyd County tree I believe. It may have been a factor but I hope not. That is a large discrepancy on the free throws though. Knott is well known for a few calls going their way and I recall the phantom call on Justice in the Breathitt game as one of many memories that stayed with me after leaving Hindman many times. Coach King is a disciplined coach but Wolfe is a talented group of young men and not taking anything away from Knott by the way. Wolfe will upset someone's bracket this year in the region.
02-12-2020, 09:13 PM
Probably a dumb question, but, who is "brown sugar" ?
02-13-2020, 02:52 AM
I think they are referring to Damron, Knottâs point guard.
