PAINTSVILLE 57 SHELBY VALLEY 55 FINAL All “A”
#1
Paintsville Knocks off Shelby Valley in an all out Battle! Congrats to the Tigers and 15th Region All A Champs!
#2
Big win congrats Tigers
#3
So Paintsville loses both starting guards form last years team via transfers and now represents the 15th region. Congratulations on staying the course coach. To bad some other coaches cant learn a lesson.
#4
Way to go Tigers !!!!!

Landon has done an unbelievable job with this program. Before Paintsville even begin the season, they have not 1 BUT 2, impactful guards transfer out. Every sports page, forum, fans ect. Had written the Tigers off this year and they actually take a Step UP?! Fantastic job Landon Slone!

Solid win for the Tigers

I don't understand why everyone had discounted Paintsville out in the rankings. A couple years ago Landon Slone put together a great team of young kids before all the transfers. He obviously knows how to coach a kid to make them a better player, and kids from Johnson County will put in the work to be better athletes. This just proves, as if it weren't already clear, that the 15th region is a toss up between several teams.

Paintsville with another big win! They’ve dominated the last couple of weeks!
#10
Dominated? They won by 2 points vs JC, 2 points vs SV, single digits bs MC, I agree that they are deserving to have a number 1 ranking but dominated is a very strong word
#11
Also a 4 point win over East Ridge and a 3 point win over Phelps, they are winning but not dominating anyone
#12
Let's look at the last 2 weeks.

6-0
ONLY team undefeated in the Region.
ONLY team to play FOUR games in the All A and win.
Won games against the "Top 3" teams in the Region

May not be dominant. But, a 1 pt win is the same as a 20 pt win.

No matter.....it's been a pretty good last 2 weeks for Paintsville Basketball. Tuff schedule is paying off.

Good Luck in Richmond Tigers!
I was there last time and I will be there this time.

Also 9 points over Martin Co.
5 pts over Lawrence Co
18pts over Betsy Layne
Also (while we’re at it)
Vs District Teams 3-0
Vs Region Teams 8-0

Ya know, Since were throwing out numbers.

After looking at their Record against the teams in the 57th District and the 15th Region, unlike you, I believe the way Elite Eagle described Paintsville’s performance over the past 2 weeks was spot on.

Maybe you need to look up the definition of dominant, like i said deserve to be #1 in the region at this point and they have found a way to win and good for them, they are playing well, but nobody in this region is dominating anyone

Must be the haterade 😂

No I meant what I said... they have dominated the region within the last couple of weeks. You don’t go undefeated over the last couple of weeks by not dominating.

I’ve gotta ya Eagle. I know and your correct. They have Dominated the Region. Iknowall is just having trouble with the word Dominate. For some reason he’s not seeing that the last 2 weeks have been Dominant, like we see that it has. 8-0 and the ONLY undefeated team in the 15th Region, on the streak that they’re on is best described with no other word but Dominant. Now Hopefully they can continue it!

Amazing effort by the Tigers. Great come from behind victory.

This is coaching at its finest. Paintsville has lost some very, very talented players in the past 2 years and this coaching staff lead by Slone has still put a regional contender (slight, slight favorite) on the floor this year.

These Tigers have worked hard individually and as group to get to this point and it was a great day to be a Tiger yesterday.

Once again, Shelby Valley loses a big game that they were favored to win. Seems like I've seen this movie multiple times over the last few years...

I guess Dingess and Williams should have stayed the course! Grass ain’t always greener!

Brady Dingess left Martin County looking for those greener pastures and found that the grass wasn't greener for him at Paintsville, so he came back home. Great news for Martin County...

Now Seth Williams is a whole different situation, there were certain players that didn't get along with Seth and a few parents that wanted him gone. They got their wish... Confusednicker:

Kids transferring schools in the 15th region has become a common occurrence and sometimes it works out for the kids and sometimes it doesn't, but life goes on.

Also it appears that Paintsville is doing just fine without Seth and Brady.

It happens I guess lol I think we can all appreciate what they’ve done over the last couple of weeks anyway... regardless of the word used to describe lol

Shelby valley lost 3 or 4 starters off of their team last year, right? Without much of a bench behind them?
#25
Shelby Valley always has issues winning the big ones. Always favored and always seem to have a let down in tournament time. 15th region is having a down year IMO. The way it’s playing out anybody could win the region this year.

They did lose 3 of last year's starters, including both of their inside guys. They did return their star Cody Potter (I'm sure you remember him from the game they played with UHA), as well as point guard Keian Worrix. They also got a transfer big man, Elijah Sykes, who is giving then 10-11 points and 6-7 rebounds per game. Another new starter, Kaden Robinson, is averaging nearly 14 points per game, after only playing sparingly last year.

Unfortunately true. I would like to think that SV should be a slight favorite to win the region this year, but after dropping the All-A game to Paintsville, who knows? I could see any of 4, maybe 5 teams going to Rupp this year.

All I know is this: if Hicks doesn't get that elusive regional title this year, it may be a long time before he gets another chance.

Totally agree here. Hicks has had Potter was 4 years now and that Regional Title has eluded them both. Maybe cause Pikeville had Battaile for two of those years. They were possible favored last year but lost to JC is semis. With the best player in the Region on your side this will be Hicks last chance for awhile(unless they get a transfer). Will be a fun Regional tournament for sure.
