Shelby Valley 58, Pikeville 48 (15th All-A Semi)
#1
Shelby Valley pulls off the upset against heavily favored Pikeville to advance to the finals of the All-A regional.

SV's season hit a few bumps in the road in December, which included a surprising district loss to East Ridge. But after losing by one at Pikeville last week, Valley has now demolished Martin County by 22 on Friday, and beaten Pikeville by 10. With Cassidy Rowe finally back on the court and starting to contribute, the Wildcats' season suddenly looks at lot more promising.

Shelby Valley plays for the All-A regional title tonight against Phelps (and former SV Wildcat Kylie Hall).

Not an upset. Shelby Valley is #1 in 15th region. Do your homework. Get out watch games

This was absolutely an upset. Pikeville is the defending regional champion, and was everyone's preseason favorite to win the 15th region again. The Panthers entered this game 12-3, with a perfect 8-0 record against the rest of the 15th region. Shelby Valley entered the game with a record of 9-5, including 7-2 against the rest of the region. Pikeville would have been considered the favorite by anyone.

After winning the All-A, SV probably has a better argument for being the best team in the region now than they did a week ago. It would have been hard to say they were #1 when they had a record of just 8-5, including an inexplicable loss to 5-10 East Ridge. Perhaps you should watch some games?

Pikeville had just beat Valley at home by 1 with no Rowe. Rowe back and neutral court for this one. Not an upset.
