That was a great game.

Johnson Central made all the necessary plays in the second half.

Reese Smith and Colwick are stars for Boyle County. Those two put the team on their back. Smith also saved Boyle a few times with some big time tackles.

Johnson Central has a great group football players and each of them played their hearts out tonight.

Everyone knows what smith has, I think Colwick was underutilized in this game. Several big and SMART plays by him and the other WR opposite from smith. But they just kept going back to smith when he was double teamed? I honestly don’t get it? Obviously if you have smith double covered someone on the other side is going to have a better chance. Chuck will forget more about football than I’ll remember. But this one puzzles me?? It was like he was playing madden and kept going to his “99” overall WR even when his other players were pretty much open??

Rice had a nice play on Smith st the end. Happy for Central. I’ve always been a fan of Wilson Kelly since we played them at Corbin. The kid had 16 tackles tonight. Great job to both teams.

That comment that the Boyle admin. Made was wrong and shouldn’t have been made. But the same arrogance that Boyle displayed is being displayed by others on here right now..... I don’t have a dog in the fight but I try to look at all sides. Most of it isn’t coming from JC fans so what’s that say about the other programs you’re representing?? Ride me all you want too! I’m glad JC won because of the comments but act with class.

SEKY rules high school football this year. Hats off to JC, Somerset and Belfry. Also to Bell Co and Paintsville for their respective appearances. This one in particular though after the comments made by Boyle Co earlier this week.

Wow! No need for that. Hate that somebody said something like that and put a "black spot" on an otherwise great football season the Rebels had. And JC definitely didn't need any more motivation.

Reese Smith and Riley Colwick are the real deal. It’s hard to imagine two wide receivers complimenting each other better on the high school level. They also made some unbelievable plays in run support on defense. I really don’t understand why Mark Stoops didn’t do everything in his power to get Reese to UK.

I was impressed by Reed Lanter a lot too. He is really really good at making quick decisions and getting the ball out quick. His next step is to improve throwing the ball when he is outside of the pocket because I think that was the difference in between the first half and the second half defensively for JC. They started bringing a lot more pressure and forced him to make contested throws.

So proud to be a JC graduate. What a win for those boys and they deserve it. Great season for Boyle Co they could compete with any team in the state but this one belongs to the Golden Eagles!!!

Man I love Wilson Kelly! He's a great football player but an even better young man. Really hate this for him and the rest of those Boyle County kids. That's why I don't get on here and trash talk. Never know when one of them, still being heartbroken, gets on here and reads this stuff. Its not worth hurting some kids feelings. They gave it their all and just came up a little short. This loss doesn't take away the fact that they had an outstanding season and beat some really good teams along the way.

You can't take away from what JC did either. They also had an outstanding season and beat some really good teams along the way, even my Pirates, badly I might add. It's just a shame their had to be a loser in this game but that's just the way it goes.

Congratulations to both teams on great seasons and to the Johnson Central Eagles on winning the 4A State Championship. Alot of people, including myself, never gave them a chance in this game and they went out and took care of business and did what they needed to do and earned that trophy. Congrats.

Absolutely!! That class alone has accomplished more than most have in their 4 years, to go along with one title! You might not be going out on top, but you’re going out with a lot to be proud of! I know your pain, trust me, two years in a row!! Give it a week, you’ll still be angry but you’ll see clearly that you have a lot to be proud of

I wouldn’t say either team played perfect. But I listened and didn’t see, so my opinion isn’t very insightful haha.

Said in pre-game post that Riley Preece a great career 4 year starter at QB and lead his team to championship game each season. Also a great defensive player and punter. Has to be in running for Mr Football
