Anyone that knows me knows my name is Jon...

The star player of the last team remaining would be what I would go by if I retired to Cabo San Lucas.

I could have swore we played Paducah Tighman in there somewhere. Or was that for the championship sometime in the 80's?
AngryMob Wrote:Is Ashland the only one we’ve never beat?

Yes, all the rest we either won every time we played in the Semi's or at least won once in a rematch.

Got it. That's some nice, fun trivia right there. Thanks buddy.
Here’s my biggest trivial riddle, and if anyone gets this I’ll be very proud of you...

The last time Belfry played a game on November 29th (Friday), it was a State Semi on the road. A dry day, despite the name, so we threw 5 passes. The only incompletion was intercepted. They must’ve not messed with the bull. There was no smoke to signify a win or loss, but a deep ball from the opposing QB was dropped like it was hot. Could’ve been a game changer. To this day, one Pirate Captain still remains at the site of this battle.

If you can tell me who we played and explain what these mean, big props (talking to you EKUAlum05)

First Belfry game I really remember was the 2001 Pike County Bowl... we beat Harrison County and someone stole my moms taillight covers.

Later on in life, I found out one of my best friends had a game winning interception that night.

I know the team and a few of the references.

Close, not in location per se, but you’re about 14% correct... 👀
AtlPirateFan Wrote:I know the team and a few of the references.

Lets hear it. EKUAlum will get to my post first and won’t see your spoilers.
AngryMob Wrote:Close, not in location per se, but you’re about 14% correct... 👀

The game I'm thinking of against Bell was at a neutral site, I believe.
Bourbon Co. 2013 was the game, David Jones is the Pirate captain. Stumped by the other references.

Nice!

You are correct. Here’s all of them.

The last time Belfry played a game on November 29th (Friday), it was a State Semi on the road.

A dry day, despite the name, so we threw 5 passes. (Bourbon County is a dry county despite being named after Bourbon) The only incompletion was intercepted.

They must’ve not messed with the bull. (Hatfield wasn’t our leading rusher as he normally was.)

There was no smoke to signify a win or loss (Dalton Pope was Bourbon’s QB) but a deep ball from the opposing QB was dropped like it was hot (Snoop Johnson was the intended receiver.) Could’ve been a game changer.

To this day, one Pirate Captain still remains at the site of this battle (David Jones is now the HC at Bourbon and was an assistant at Belfry that night.)
