Rockcastle Co at Bell County 11/15
#61
Stephney is a truly impressive player. Bell wins comfortably. Straight shot to Round 4.

Bells #1 for a reason. But the fire still burns inside this one. Go Rock!!!

This rivalry has been renewed by being back in the same district at least for the next several years an Rock won first 4 straight playoff meetings while Bell has took the last 3. This Friday a new playoff meeting occurs in which hopefully the Rock can find a way to pull this one out. I know it means a lot to everyone in the Rock an everyone here will be pulling for the hard nosed Rock boys to bring back a W from log mountain. Only two more days!

SmashMouth17 Wrote:Why the shade on 3A not being what it was or being down? You and everyone else knew it wasn’t going to be as good considering you have Boyle,Lexington Catholic, Central and Corbin all moving up from 3A. It was no surprise it was going to be more wide open. Doesn’t mean it’s still not a solid class. Old powerhouse’s move up so new one can form. With Boyle county probably not going anywhere and Johnson Central being as talented as they are most likely it’s there class to lose no offense but as good as Corbin is and has been Boyle or Central or their was always someone that Corbin ran into that just kept there run a little short. That happens to all good teams in all classes. Bowling green a few years back got upset by graves county then lost title to Pulaski one year. Highlands several years ago got upset by Collins 2013. Wayne lost title to Belfry 3-0 in 2013. It happens that’s why you play but back to post Go Rock time to make your own upset happen in 2019.

I don't consider telling the truth as throwing shade. 3A is down. Put this year's bracket against Belfry's 15/16 teams and we wouldn't even be having any threads about who is gonna win 3A. But that is not what this bracket is. It is very even and IMO several teams could win it all.

Hell that team could've won state across multiple classes. Don't know if they're the best comparison

My great grandmother that was born 1900 Rockcastle County lived at Middlesboro in 1910. Her father was born out the road in Claiborne County Tennessee. If you need help getting started on your family tree I can help. lol

I typed Noetown and it auto corrected to Norton

What’s scary is we haven’t really turn London loose this season yet. Truly think Dudley is holding that back to a game we will have too. Really didn’t need to during the regular season and taking that chance of him getting hurt. He’s also our punt returner. Really wish he took kickoffs as well. Kid would have more time and space for KO returns. Love how deep we are are the RB position. Literally 6-7 deep with really good backs.
#68
Rock had a good game against Estill but they've lost to every good team they've played. Lincoln won 3 games, Garrard is way down. No reason to think they'll give Bell much.

It’s prob a good thing he’s not returning kicks. Even if you did need him to this year, he’s to valuable to that offense to do something that has a high risk of injury. You could do without him on KO’s. You couldn’t on offense

Nothing personal, but the fire will be put out quickly Friday. Good luck definitely however Bell is loaded and this is not the ROCK of a few years ago against Bell and that rivalry.

No game to this one...
#72
I maybe wrong , I think Rock will be there and play a good game . We have to stay focused and going strong !! Prayers both teams play safe injury free games...
#73
Our defense needs to do better at getting off the field. I think that is an area of improvement. We play good defense we will be in great shape.
#74
Rock will come to play no doubt about that. Team loved practicing in the snow hard hitting even had some fun with it nearly entire team shirtless and enjoying themselves. Rock will come prepared as I’m sure Bell will be as well. This will be a good game this time around. Rock Hard and Go Rock!

When I look at Rocks schedule and focus on the teams that can really play, Rock is 0-3, really didn’t even compete in those games and was beaten badly. Rock is not the Rock of old days.. If Rock had played with those big 3, then I would agree that they have a chance.

When Rock played Bell the last time the game prior we lost our starting RB. We had no clue what our offense was going to do had one week to get ready for Bell with no idea on what the team’s offense was going to be moving forward. The performance Rock gave the first meeting showed exactly that a team that was lost offensively. The team has since been refocused on getting back to log mountain and giving it another go with our team clicking. Since the loss Rock is 5-0. Team has scored 223 points for 45 per game. Defense has allowed 63 for 13. Average score has been 45-13. Majority of the points allowed was against JV. Rock has now passed the ball in those 5 games for 607 yards. Parkey has 121 yards per game average passing and Rock has 1334 rushing yards which is 266 per game. Team now has its identity and is passing for 121 yards and rushing for 266 for a total of 387 yards of offense per game. Parkey has 620 of those rushing yards and 6 passing TD and 10 Rushing TD for a total of 16 by himself. Team has 26 rushing TD. Rock has a solid offense now and will be able to compete with Bell. Bell can’t talk about Rock schedule. Bell would not beat Somerset or Wayne either.

Let’s compare district opponents
Rock vs
Estill 18-13 (rain and lightning delay)
Jackson 56-22(JV allowed 14)
McCreary Central 49-14(JV allowed 7)
Garrard county 42-6
Estill county 50-14
215 points/ 43
69 points/ 14
43-14 average score + 29 (21 of 69 was on JV so really allowed 10 for + 33)

Bell vs
McCreary Central 56-6
Garrard County 39-0
Jackson County 45-0
Estill County 55-12
Garrard County 44-0
239 points/ 48
18 points/ 4
48-4 average score + 44

What this says is with the given common opponents Rock and Bell have clearly dominated the district and are the clear cut 1 and 2 and Rock can play with Bell if they come out and play like they are capable of. Regardless all this talk will be settled tomorrow night. Less than 24 hours until the war begins! This will be a war!

Bell will see a completely different team the second time around just the way Estill did. I told them the same thing that Rock is improved a lot and ready to do battle with the offense clicking at the right time look what happen a game that was 18-13 first time around became a 50-14 beating. See you on Log Mountain tomorrow night time to Buckle those chin straps and get ready for another physical hard nosed hard hitting game Rock will bring it with everything they have Bell will have to rip there heart out bc they will lay it all on the field until the final seconds run off the clock! Good luck to both teams!
#79
I’m sure Bells JV gave up a lot of points.
You don’t have to convince me, but time will tell if your program is moving up or down. The scores against Somerset, Wayne Co and Bell say headed in wrong direction.

At first glance on paper it would appear Rock and bell are some what even, given the like opponents. But that’s the problem IMO. I don’t like comparing like opponents to predict an outcome of the two teams being compared. I’ve went into detail about it before, but to me it just doesn’t paint a true picture or an accurate/reliable one at that. There are way to many variables at hand to use that type of comparison. Very rarely does it ever it prove accurate but people still try to use it. I do think you can use it to judge overall how talented a team might be, but using it to determine if a team can win or play with another is just to much with to many outside factors not being considered. For instance, say Jackson county’s defense is suited to stop the run very well. If one team is a running team or majority running team, the score would be significantly lower if they played another team you’re trying to compare that’s say a heavy passing team. Weather could also play a huge factor in games against like opponents. Matchups are huge in HS football, if you look at say, Corbin. They beat Whitley county, who beat SW Pulaski On the road. But they lost to Pulaski at home by 3. Pulaski also lost to SW Pulaski twice. SW Pulaski got murdered by Wayne county. Corbin barely lost to Wayne. And barley lost to Pulaski. If you were comparing like opponents in all of that mess, you’d be mislead into believing an outcome that would show SW Pulaski shouldn’t even be playing this week, and also that Corbin should have beaten Pulaski co pretty bad. But instead, it shows that not only is comparing like opponents not accurate, it proves matchups are much more key.

I’m not a fan of Hilton, so I’m rooting for rock, but even with a more potent offense, logic would still show this matchup favors bell heavily. As bell was still able to put points up on rock in this Matchup, regardless of rocks offense. To me it their offense would have to be dramatically improved to be in this game. Good luck to both teams, but Bell will roll in this one because of the ability to score on rocks defense.

My prediction is the game won't be played because nearly the whole Rockcastle County team will miss the game because of the flu.

SmashMouth17. I could have save you a lot of trouble. You left out the most important game, Last meeting between Bell and Rockcastle 39-6 Confusednicker: So good luck on Log Mountain
#84
Bell will be more interested in who next week’s opponent is than Rockcastle. They have gotten better, but still not enough to beat Bell especially on Log Mountain.
#85
Bell 34-30. Rock smacks us in the mouth but somehow we recover.

Nope. From what I heard yesterday I now think this game won’t even be close. Rock should know better than to poke the bear when it’s not all that interested in the first place.

The players are ready this week and focused. Last week not so much plus we had 3 starters sick.

I know the Bell faithful know. But Bell Co only has 9 seniors this season.

Freshmen 19
Sophomore 21
Juniors 13
Seniors 9

Poke a bear? No one poked anything like I said it’s going to be a battle. No poking there just that Bell will get Rockcastle best shot this time around and if we pull it out great if not fine at least this time it will be our best shot. Good luck to both teams it will be decided tonight
