Is Wayne county 100% as of right now? Havenât followed them much in the past 2 weeks. I think both were a little banged up after the 1st match, but nothing serious. I know our longmire had an injury last week, but I honestly donât know how serious it is. Itâs either nothing or they are keeping very close to home about his status.

I don't normally pass along information that I can't substantiate, but I believe this is pretty reliable. I've "heard" that Longmire has a painful injury but not a serious one. He should be 100% by Friday. I hope both teams are 100% and the weather is dry. I want to see these two go at it with no outside influences, if that's possible!
Will be a great game!!

Like any team the Cardinals have their bruises this late in the season. The offense seems to be pretty well intact, so I expect a better showing this go around at Jewell Field.
Corbin's Longmire had a nice night Friday. With numbers like that this game may be 51-50.
I expect both defenses to step up like they did last matchup, but these are two high powered offenses when playing at their level, and the rain kept the last game at 18-16. A success would be keeping either team under 30.
Turnovers and penalties will determine this game. Corbin can't play as sloppy as they did against Knox Central and win. Hard for a zebra to change his stripes in a week.

Unless a zebra helps a team out. That defense will show up and be stronger with less time on the field, last game against Wayne they were on the field all but 33-36 plays, thatâs unheard of especially against a high octane offense like Wayne, Iâll say first to 30 wins, how about that. Leave the zebras at home.

Thatâs a pretty honest and accurate statement. I forgot about the penalties. Corbin canât play against themselves with drive killing penalties. If they can keep that # fairly low, itâll be a ball game. I think even with both defenses playing great, like you said, itâll be crazy if either are below 30.

I said 31 for Wayne. 4 tds 4 eps and a FG.

Hounds had 3 Turnovers and 5+ offensive penalties I counted just following thread. Corbin nor Wayne County can win with that level of mistakes.

You are right, but either way, Friday will be fun to watch.

Special teams may be another huge factor in this one as well. Weâve won a couple with ours, and lost a couple because of it. If a team can limit mistakes and penalties, field position resulting from ST play might be the deciding factor

Wayne County likes to go for it on 4th down, hope it bites them in this game

I thought Corbin was the better team during their previous meeting with Wayne. You have to give Wayne credit for never quitting, but Corbin basically gave that game away in the final minute. With that being said, I look for another close game, which will come down to the last possession. I think Corbin's young kids are playing better and better and I look for Longmire to be the difference maker in this game. Corbin wins the District Title, 28-24. Good luck to the Redhounds and Coach Haddix.

I will agree we were our own worse enemy that game. But itâs hard for me to judge who the best team was, the weather played a big factor for both. The big difference in that game was special teams. We missed some opportunities and they made them. I do think the hounds are playing wayyyy better than they were a month ago so it should be interesting to say the least. Iâve really not said either way about who will advance, so Iâll finally say this, if the defense plays like they been have, we limit penalties, and Longmire plays like he did last week, WE WIN!! He was the player we all knew he could be last week. If one of those donât happen, well....... congrats Wayne county. But all of that is assuming Wayne county plays great too. Corbin is dangerous enough that if you come out flat or unfocused, theyâll send you packing.

I pick Corbin in this one by slim margin.

I think the victor will be only by a slim margin whomever that may be.

Hounds have to slow Sloan down or it will be a long night
11-14-2019, 07:24 AM
Havenât seen Corbin play any this year have seen Wayne an know how special Sloan is to that team. Wayne will go as far as he takes them. I feel if Corbin can keep him out of the end zone they will win but if it becomes a shootout that would probably favor Wayne. I think Corbin slows down Sloan just enough to squeak out the win in the rematch.

Corbin did a good job of keeping him off the scoreboard, but heâs the type of athlete that can make that change in the blink of an eye.

Thatâs also how I feel about our boys, Longmire, Wine, Steely, Patterson, Shelton and Big Yeager that can change a game in a heartbeat. When we spread the field, itâs hard to stop all these boys. Our offense is on fire as well! Iâd say get your tickets now, between Wayneâs all stars and Corbins all stars, you will get moneys worth.

Corbin should win, 6 stars to Wayne Co 1 Star..
Wayne Co star will be Mr. Football next year..
should be a good game. My only concern for Corbin is that they could win at Corbin, it will be a steep hill to climb at Wayne Co.

Oh yea youâre absolutely right. I wonât ever sell our kids ability short. Longmire has the talent to be the best player in the state the next two years, if he puts in the work. Patterson will only continue to improve, and at his size already, heâs dangerous. Yeager, not many people regardless of class are stopping him one on one once he gets those legs pumping. Heck most of the time it takes 2 or 3 anyways. Combs has tremendous upside as well, and the great thing is, weâve got him for 3 more years. Wine to me is kind of like longmire, when he gets fire in his belly, watch out! Weâve got an amazing collection of talent, weâre just young. Donât forget about our lineman either. Weâve got some amazing kids coming up. One kid is hurt, bruammett (spelling?), but I think he would have seen the field some this year if not injured, as a freshman. The Faulkner kid is pretty good as well, heâll see the field next year too.
I honestly think weâve got more talent across the board than Wayne. Itâs getting them to focus, and play for each other and that âCâ on their helmet. If they all played to the ability we know they have, they beat Wayne by 14+. But they are once again, young. They still have a learning curve to them, and lack experience compared to season teams. Thatâs why outside of our talent, our boys were so good last year. They had the time and experience put in. This group makes a lot of mistakes, thatâs part of it. But we looked good last week, and since the beechwood game have played 10x better. We shot ourselves with Wayne the first go âaround. We canât do that again or weâll be at home watching JC, Boyle, Wayne, and franklin.
