No worries once a Rocket always Rocket. Just really think we can match up with Bell. Guess we will find out one way or another come this friday.

SmashMouth, I really don't think anyone meant to disrespect Rock and their players. I know I certainly didn't!!

After all, everyone overlooks pj!!! We always have.

If this game was at Mt. Vernon I might have a Rocket Burger at Marcella's Farm to Fork Smile

Smashmouth my great grandmother was born in Rockcastle County and lived at Wildie and I probably have family in the area. I also had a close cousin in the area that I lost a few years ago. I love you guys.

Rockcastle county 14

Should be a good physical game for Bell. Hopefully a good tune up game for Dudley's boys 😁

I know I give bell county a lot of grief now then. But they have the talent to possibly win a title this year, with 3A being down overall. But I honestly worry about how they’ll face adversity if and when it hits. I watched a confident Corbin team get smacked in the mouth by Boyle county 2 years ago. And it took them about 1 1/2 qtrs to finally get back into the swing of things. But by then it’s too late.

love the subtle shot about 3A .. corbin wouldn’t make it past third round in 3a this year .. but back to thread we will run clock .. train keeps rolling

I wasn’t meaning anything negative when I said that or agreed about over looking what you say. I’m sorry to hear about you losing your cousin. I lost my brother several years ago and Marcella’s is a good place to eat I know them “Personally” my better half is their family so I can vouch for how good it is.

Why the shade on 3A not being what it was or being down? You and everyone else knew it wasn’t going to be as good considering you have Boyle,Lexington Catholic, Central and Corbin all moving up from 3A. It was no surprise it was going to be more wide open. Doesn’t mean it’s still not a solid class. Old powerhouse’s move up so new one can form. With Boyle county probably not going anywhere and Johnson Central being as talented as they are most likely it’s there class to lose no offense but as good as Corbin is and has been Boyle or Central or their was always someone that Corbin ran into that just kept there run a little short. That happens to all good teams in all classes. Bowling green a few years back got upset by graves county then lost title to Pulaski one year. Highlands several years ago got upset by Collins 2013. Wayne lost title to Belfry 3-0 in 2013. It happens that’s why you play but back to post Go Rock time to make your own upset happen in 2019.

You're cool. Sometimes I like to ride up through Lincoln County to reminisce and visit an Amish store then stop at Marcella's on the way back. Definitely one of the best places to eat. I talk trash, but I love the state of Kentucky and the people in it.

Nothing wrong with 3A. Lots of good teams and parity in 3A.

Well I wasn’t meaning for it to be subtle. It’s not a secret. Like someone below said, when you lose 3 or 4 good teams out of a class, yea it’ll go down. Belfry isn’t what they have been in the last 6 years or so. CAL is down. So yea, most would tend to agree.

Don’t know why you went on the defensive about it, unless you agree as well and just don’t want to admit it?? That’s usually a sign, just saying. Why you bring corbin into this is beyond me too?? Nope they probably wouldn’t make it past the 3rd round in 3A, probably wouldn’t in any class, so I don’t really see your point. But I’d much rather be in 3A this year than 4A, 5A, 6A, and even 2A, as our chances would be greater. But yes! Back to the game...... bell has a very high probability of winning. But I believe, along with several great coaches, that teams need to face adversity on the field in order to prepare them for tough tests when it counts. Bell might pass that test if they end up playing a great team. But no one knows, because we’ve not seen it or how they will respond. Bell has talent, no doubting that, but I wouldn’t say they are the most talented team in their class, they are up there with them though. Talent only gets you so far, it’ll be more than enough to advance to next week. Good luck.

Hey PJ why’ont you show us your family tree so we can claim you as kin folk. All bark and no bite? Never met ole dougie before but he’s always one that makes this site so much fun. Just wished everyone knew what he says is all in good fun. Hound is right in saying 3A is down relative to the past, but we all know some of those schools should have been in 4A years ago. Corbin would definitely have a better chance of getting out of our region than their 4A path. Belfry is still capable of winning it all, but I do feel like them not being a dominant team this year has hurt the outlook on 3A as well. Of course my bobcats have been plagued with an easy 11 wins outlook due to weak scheduling. Both Desales and CAL have lost games this year they shouldn’t have. There’s just a lot of unknown right now but one thing is for sure. Whoever makes it to Lexington will have to come pay a visit Log Mountain at some point, and believe me when I say the only thing harsher than that cold wind is a bunch of blue collar boys that love punching teams right in their mouth for 48 minutes.

Having said that Rock is much improved since their last visit, and the little man in the glasses knows that too. He won’t take them for granted.

I said it over a month ago when people was worried about RPI, ranking hear your ranking there. When you get into the playoffs just win, win, win! Stay Alive..
#54
The Rock is always physical and well coached. Don't have the athletes to match up with Bobcats this year.
#55
We will see if we have closed the gap. I haven’t missed a Rock game in 10 years and I have to say this group has improved the most of any team I’ve watched. In years past they were either good or they wasn’t. This team has went from a decent solid team to a really good team. I look forward to the return to Log Mountain hopefully we can push those pesky bobcats right on off lol. Good luck to both teams.

Difference in Estill County scores shows Rock has come s long way.
#57
Looking at their stats and comparing them to the roster it looks like they don't play a whole lot of seniors. Good sign for the years to come. Good luck to the Rockets!

Thanks Smile. I'm a genealogist and can show you my family tree. I have a lot of kin in Bell and Harlan Counties. I have family buried in Pineville and Middlesboro near Norton. My great grandmother that was born 1900 Rockcastle County lived at Middlesboro in 1910. Her father was born out the road in Claiborne County Tennessee. If you need help getting started on your family tree I can help. lol

Not a lot of seniors on this team. We play mostly sophomore and juniors. We have 12 seniors but over half of them don’t play or may come in here or there but don’t make a significant impact. So we are actually relatively young. We should be pretty solid for next few years. Like I said the improvement this team has made and the confidence they play with is really fun to watch just have to see if it’s good enough to make the game competitive and hang around and see what happens.

Rockcastle may have improved but not enough to pull this off. It might be close in the first quarter to mid second quarter, but Bell has too much talent and depth. Rockcastle hasn't had depth for several years and it's killed them.
