If it wasn't for the loud, unnecessary music blaring the entire game it would get a 100 from me. To me it takes away from the good football being played on the field. Definitely a distraction from a fans point of view. But other than that, it's a great football atmosphere with great fans, nice facilities, and top notch competition.
Your not the only one to think that. some people are just to immature , and arrogant. He thinks Friday nights are about him. :insane:

It was after the game was over. After our players left the locker room to go to the bus, you'd think they were walking through the heart of Crenshaw. Grown ass men absolutely talked to our players like they were dogs. And when I say men, I mean men. Some looked in their 40's. And when some parents intervened they were ready to fight. And some of the stuff I heard said to our cheerleaders, again by the same grown men, was downright vulgar. I guess winning the game wasn't enough.
That group of thugs was an embarrassment to the school, football program, and community. No wonder they were standing outside the fence. They probably had been banned from games long ago.
I don't know if it was because it was Belfry and we'd had met them so much in recent past but it was the worst I'd ever seen a group of kids and a fanbase treated AFTER a game. I say "AFTER" because while at the game, those fans were great. And the coaching staff and concession workers were some of the best, and the game atmosphere was awesome. Not so much after. I'd hate to think what would have happened if we'd won.
WOW! I don't blame you for feeling that way! I was at the game you are talking about and then came back next week to watch Corbin & Central play and we had a great time both games. We never seen any of that kind of stuff, but I was just watching and not part of either team.
We had a similar experience at Perry Central about 10 years ago. Being spit on and stuff being said to our players, cheerleaders, etc. during warm ups while administration stood idle. It's one of the worst places I've been.

M.C. Napier was the most classless bunch I ever played against. Prestonsburg wasn't far behind back when Bill Letton was coach. It's no wonder those two teams got into a huge brawl around that time. Back to the topic of the thread, back when I played, if you were provided a locker room, you were doing pretty good. The reason I liked Pikeville so much was the locker room was extremely clean and spacious plus they gave us a huge cooler with lots of ice, cups and a bunch of 2 liters of Pepsi and Mountain Dew.

My experiences has mostly been in southeastern Kentucky. We've made a few trips outside the state but not many, and not recently.
I can honestly say that, but for one school, I have thoroughly enjoyed every single school that we have visited. We were treated far better than we were traveling inner-county schools as a JV team! nicker: I mean we've never had the bus's battery stolen out of the county!!!
I must give honorable mention to Belfry. Few folks throw down like they do for tailgating. My price of admission years ago, was 3 cakes. Those people eat like Harlan Countians, too.

I remember having an altercation with some fans over a radio station sign. Don't remember where it was. Hatz? In our defense, it was a new sign. Also remember the Boyle/Corbin playoff game in 82 our pep bus was defecated and urinated on.
Aside from those two, most places I've been have been friendly.

I and the team loved everything about it.
Did your team lose because if you beat Belfry a couple times it changes a lot of things. I can remember playing them in late 90âs at Vipperman Stadium and getting drilled in head by quarters and nickels that crowd was throwing at us. Have up most respect for team Belfry and their coaching staff always have and always will. But fans different story just few weeks ago Breathitt Middle played Belfry Middle in a awesome game that came down to last play of game that Belfry came out with victory. Bobcats weâre waiting to get on bus and some lady came out cussing some of Bobcats players for being to close her vehicle. She then gets in her car and throws gravels and hit a bunch of kids. Breathitt Co weâre not best at being host either!!! No way I put either team on list.

I always liked the atmosphere and fans at Russellville. Historic stadium. Great experience.
I never had a problem with anyone inside the fence at Central - in fact I found them to very cordial. Outside the stadium is another story altogether, but that's not Central's fault.

I have witnessed Belfry fans throwing ice and water bottles at Breathitt County at Vipperman back in the late 90's when Allen Sperry and company beat Belfry in a shootout. Not a good look for sure!
I also witnessed the single most classless thing of my life at a High School sporting event in Jackson when a Breathitt player was injured by a tackle by Belfry's Curtis Childress on a clean play, while he was laying on the field and the stadium was quiet a racist remark to end all racist remarks was not only shouted, but then cheered by a group of Bobcat fans.
The good news for both is I think both fanbases have evolved a little in recent years. Once Belfry moved to CAM Stadium it was a polar shift in how their fans acted. It was like Belfry suddenly took pride in hosting people.
I think the way Vipperman was constructed with the single set of bleachers and the visiting team in front of them bleachers was a powder keg that was good for noone. It has reared it's head in Middle School games in recent years as well. Made it an intimidating venue, but in terms of visiting fan experience Belfry may have went from one of the worst experiences to one of the best.
I also think Breathitt's set-up with visitor seating that was was frankly embarrassing, created issues because large fanbases would try to sit on the home side and get met with resistance.

I remember the incident but not where.
Washington County, maybe? Somerset?? I had one bad one the year I did Danville in '83 and went to Henry Clay. Old Fritz bailed me out of that one. It was great having Mr. T as your Color Announcer.

Both Breathitt and Belfry fan Bases are very passionate about their football teams!!!! Plain and simple and that most cases doesnât lead to most hospitable site!!!! Both teams take pride weâre there from and accomplishments they have made. I will agree with EKUAlum05 I donât recall anything since that they move to CAM. But they have visitors section so you donât get hear much either and they no longer sit behind visitors team. Middlesboro use be another place that was rough in late 90âs . Maybe different now not sure.

The Good:
At Belfry 100% top notch. We was welcomed and treated with class by the fans.
At Lexington Catholic you would think could get ugly but not the case. Class all the way.
At Central was nothing of what I was expecting. Everyone was welcoming and friendly.
The Bad:
At Breathitt our fans where egged in the stands the entire game from across the creek.
At Prestonsburg in 2000 was a sore site to see as our ball boys got bullied everytime they went down to the river to retrieve the extra points kicked by Taylor Begley. Guess a 56-8 semi final beatdown was just to much for them to handle.
The Ugly:
At Elizabethtown our fans where escorted off their side of the bleachers by the local police dept. One couple in mind was a old couple that was handicap and had make the walk around only to find no seats available. Worst treatment from any school I have ever attended and it's not even close. There was no reserve seats as everything was general admission.

I agree with Central. Best band and dance girls in State of Kentucky, friendly at the gate, friendly with parking suggestions, really good food (oyster sandwich one game) and clean bathrooms on visitors side.Yellowjackets kick your behind and rarely, if ever, say a word. View of city from visitor's stands is neat. Quality program.

Belfry is also a good place to visit. Just overall amazing and a pretty place to play.
I will give my honest opinion without bias on this. Corbin has been spotty, at best. Been there many times. Never been rude to, except for once, but have not been in great situations a couple of times. Once our radio guys did the radio from a doorway, and we were crowded out by at least 2 sets of Corbin folks. I recorded from the opposite doorway and my camera ran out of battery without a cord to stretch to the door. We asked and there was some kind of live stream you guys did, there were radio guys, and every single window was filled, except for a small little 3x3 spot that our coaches were crowded into (one coach was 6'3" and 320 pounds), so obviously they were a**holes to elbows. I don't mind being outside, IF I had, had power. Our radio guys were put in the elements where the crowd noise sometimes outweighed their broadcast. None of that made sense, since you have such a big press box on the visitor's side, you have a tall tower box for coaches and your video people. So I didn't understand that, fully. The next game your AD did give us room, somewhat, but I was still wedged in between 2 coaches and a lady filmographer you guys had who was basically wedged in between 3 fat butts from Casey county. Plus she's cheering for her son, and we are sometimes cheering for our own team or yelling at a particular kid. So that wasn't fun for anyone. But I will say your guys/coaches, etc.. were ultra professional when they do come to our place. And, again, no one was really rude, we just weren't accomadated and were crowded out, 2 times I was there. 2 times I was there we had room. So 50/50. Your ticket/gate people are nice folks.
Estill county might have been the nicest folks I've met. They fed us well. Taylor was nice, but they were as over crowded, maybe more so than Corbin. Sometimes that is just a matter of folks having a very small press box (Hart county), and there isn't room. Rock is maybe the "scariest", cause that ladder climb is just one mistep away from an early death. I don't care how great any Lexington press box is, I hate you all. Well, I hate most of you, but particularly Lexington. Louisville Central is one of my favorite spots to go, from the stands, to the roof. Bell county makes you feel like you're going to be stabbed with a buck knife, every single time...Until you get with their radio guys, who are awesome dudes. Don't like the camera guy if he's still there. He told me he didn't mind to go to jail, and I didn't mind to have our jailer to take him since he was standing right beside me. But really, I guess Estill is the best place I've been. If Taylor keeps handing out that homemade candy, even if they are kicking our tails, they will continue to move higher on my list. Oh, Powell folks are pretty nice up top. And Barren county may be the best facility I've ever been to, college or high-school.

Bell Coâs updated visitor side is top notch. Locker rooms, concessions, restrooms and a huge sitting capacity.
