This doesn’t fit the narrative.

Hound05 said Corbin had played the tougher schedule therefore the stats you cited didn’t matter. Looks like schedules are pretty equal.

Cal Preps is garbage, most will tell you that. The only reason that Wayne is slightly above Corbin in that is because our BG game got rained out. Even then, it’s still garbage. Outside of like opponents, ours is tougher. A top team from TN. Whitley county, who has beaten several of the opponents on your schedule. Beechwood who would also likely beat most on your schedule, and maybe even you. Lafayette and somerset are mysteries this season. And BG would run through most of them as well. Go off CalPreps if you want, it’s the same website that said corbin wouldn’t make it to Kroger field the past two year as well.....

For the record, you also basically stated Sloan was going to destroy us. How many TDs did he have? And I’m not discrediting the kid, because he is amazing, just pointing out your perception on things.

This thread is going nowhere. The rematch will be another good game with no clear favorite.

Hound05 “you are either exited or pumped up about” a potential rematch. Are you familiar with those words. I never said Sloan would destroy anybody. I never said Corbin didn’t know how to prepare for him. I said you had no idea what was coming to town. Which you didn’t. You never thought he would have 261 total yards. That could hardly be considered shutting him down. He is a fine young man in addition to a great football player. I regret I put him in the middle of the discussion and will not again.

I hope Wayne Co. and Corbin get to play again. It was a great game. Both teams left it all on the field. Probably will be another great game. But I am certain none of your ifs and but opinions will have any effect on the outcome nor will mine. Wayne Co. 18 Corbin 16. Hope to see you on a dry field at Wayne Co.

Wait, wait wait. You don't get to mention Bowling Green in your strength of schedule. You didn't actually play them. A "top team from Tennesse"? You mean Notre Dame? They're 2-7. And there's no "mystery" about Lafayette. They're 2-8. They're horrible. Whitley County has beaten "several" of the opponents on Wayne's schedule? They've beaten 2. One if them was Southwestern. They beat the Warriors by 14, Wayne beat them but 38. The other is North Laurel who they clipped by 6 and Wayne hasn't played yet. Their results certainly don't look any better than those of Harlan County or Shelby County and only marginally better than Rockcastle County. Beechwood is okay this season but Corbin was the only team that they beat out of their first 5 games. They're not what they normally are. And you can't really count Somerset since you haven't played them yet. But other than that your post is spot on.

What a game. Congrats to both teams. This is what high school football is about.

That dry dirt works both ways, I bragged all morning on Sloan and what a good game it was to my co workers. Some know Sloans family and how good of people they are. I’m proud of our Corbin boys. Sure, Wayne may win big at home, but Corbin will come to play. It won’t surprise me if Corbin wins either, they can.

I bet you couldn't put an all star team together between Corbin and Wayne Co and play with JC or Boyle
#72
I’d take that bet. There is tons of talent on both these teams.
