Bell County Basketball

I am being objective. I wouldn’t think because I’m bragging on them, that would cause them to have pressure. I’d say they could care less what you or I thank.
#62
Of you think they would care so less what some one is thinking or what you are thinking then why are you on every subject that's expressing oppions on different teams begging for somebody to take ahold of your conversation about OBI and putting them on a pedestal and moving to the front runner in the 13th region and agreeing with your statements n so called facts when OBI hasn't been on the radar for almost 20 yrs but some how you have came in over summer and turn a program into a legacy and is going to be the team to beat in the 13th region this yr. As been spoke in a previous post let OBI stay under the radar n come out unexpode n show their running as the season exceed when they start beating some front runners then let people talk their own thoughts besides setting OBI up for failure because you have been speaking all of this dominate performance there going to deliver. So when they can beat somebody then they can shine their star but as again (when) they beat front runner then we can praise you. 🌟

It’s a blog and a conversation. I just state my opinion just like you. Just like the so called mighty tigers losing in district last two years. My opinion is it will be the same because they are unproven in real games with same team.
#64
Dec 2nd will show you it want be no where close to the almighty mountaineers beating us out either with their so called dream team. But for the past two season Clay has been beaten out of district by two of the top 3 teams in district and I didn't see OBI either advancing in either 2 yrs and they supposedly had a fabulous team last season when they got beat 30 plus points in round one n let one kid put 40 points with no (DEFENSE). Point stated.

Clay had a good team last year. They won the WYMT and was ranked near the top of the region all season. They ran into another good team in the district tournament and lost.
I'm sure OBI and the rest of the district appreciate you giving them bulletin board material.

I really enjoy this. Makes my life more fun. People can make excuses for the tigers but can’t even say Oneida is going to be good. So funny. People get so but hurt when you talk about certain teams. Clay co. It’s hilarious, I’m sure on dec 2nd if it goes the way you think, that’s what is supposed to happen, if it don’t then uh oh. Glenn’s seat gets a lot hotter. Hahahaha
#67
I said they looked improved when I saw them in Lexington. I just wouldn't say top 10 improved until they beat a decent team and not top five unless they beat someone like Clay.
#68
It looks like OBI has some good players returning and a new coach to go with some transfers. But they weren’t even close to top 10 in the region last year. So when you say they are too 3 in the region most people aren’t going to by that. But either you will be a genius or look like the complete opposite. I hope they play Bell because I’d like to see them play.
#69
They have improved and this summer was without best two players. That counts for a lot. Especially when one averaged 20 a game last year and the other could be best big in region

You'll have to go to Middlesboro on Feb. 10. That's the only 52nd District team they play.
#71
Your right Arjay. Bell has lost a lot of talented kids to other schools. Also have talented kids in the school who don't play for whatever reason! Plus seems like the county does not put am emphasis on the program. Hard to get people to buy in when success is limited!

The only top 10 teams OBI plays in 13th region is North Laurel and Clay County only reason they are playing them is because they have to for district play. The only other force would be Jackson County and Williamsburg and maybe a few that are All A teams and also play Cordia from the 14th region. So by that being said I guess how Big mouth are you going to state a fact on beating some of the big horses in the 13th n prove OBI earns a talk or high lights. Out of district play they might go 3-8 if lucky n that's giving a slight chance they might edge a win on one of the 3 front runners in district and if you play Lee and Wolf and teams with stats of 500 or below how can you have a case to disbute or get anyone to buy into your talk of Fame. You must be as a dreamer as it was back in the 70's smoking the left hand pipe. OBI want even finish better than 35 to 40 % winning season record if their lucky even with their new player's that's coming in after summer ball. And Evan Langdon will have a feast night Dec 2nd. Watch n see it will be a highlight film to watch over n over.
#73
Jay tiger you are hilarious. They are going to a Christmas tournament I’m sure they play someone good. Also play Middlesbrough and Williamsburg top ten teams from all the rankings and what people say. A little tougher schedule then what you make out. I would say both of oneidas bigs out score and rebound Evan. Just my thought but who knows.
#74
How am I hilarious? You stated how OBI was a front runner in the 13th. So now by that being said where is the schedule playing top runners in the 13th to show their proof ? Where is Harlan county , Bell County , Corbin , and Knox Central or South Laurel or some of the others in the top spots .Exactly (NO) where to be found on their schedule. Tenn tournament isn't 13 th region teams is my point and isn't going to get you moved up in my opinion in rankings of the 13th that you are crying 😭😭 and pleading around wanting some body to back you on. And this really makes me laugh🤣😂🤣 when you think or (BELIEVE) OBI bigs is going to out rebound Evan in a single handed ball game. I'm just proven a point to you n you can't defend it in any stand point because the schedule plainly shows their no contest their. Why don't OBI play in the Dribble drive tournament or Cumberland falls or WYMT tournament some big tournaments here in the mountain so we can see what your talking about.🤔🤔 Exactly they ain't going to be no top 5 team from now or in February . about 9 will be the highest I'll give them to move up to if that and that's going out on a limb.
#75
I agree kinda with JayTiger, OBI is having too much hype but strength of schedule means nothing when it comes to tournament time. If that’s the case Corbin & South would win every year because NO ONE plays a tougher schedule than them! Look at Clay the last two years and they play some what a tough schedule but they can’t get out of their district.
#76
Can’t believe we have 3 pages of arguing over OBI basketball
#77
Jay tiger I’d say the schedule was made before that coach took over. If they have the season I think they will, I’d say they will have a different schedule next year. Schedule doesn’t make or break you it’s what you do in the tournament. The last two years with the same kids at clay and three of the same at Oneida that took leave early. Add two new to OBI I like there chances better than the same old clay.

Thinking about starting a prediction thread 12-02-19 OBI @ Clay County :pondering:

How many points are you all going to give me. Hahahaha
#80
Bell County basketball thread has us talking about OBI and the 13th region. WOW, nothing happening on Log Mountain except football so new thread could start. OBI vs the 13th 🤔
#81
ob who.

i went back 10 years in history. big believer in history and how it repeats itself. numbers dont lie. if i counted right they have 30 games on the books.

i say your looking at 13 up and 17 down. hardly a top 10

but as i also say. play the games and let see how it rolls.
#82
Yea I guess Bell is focused on football. Stop me when you have heard that before!!! They do have a good team this year!
#83
I believe we will have a very good team this year. Losing Phipps hurts but we have a loaded sophomore class and a couple elite athletes who are seniors. The thing is our program has been a dumpster fire. We got rid of our last coach which was desperately needed. We had an assistant on his staff who got in serious trouble and thankfully will never coach again. Things were done for political reasons. Hopefully Coach Sizemore can get us going in the right direction.

You said the same thing last year and the year before.
I agree, though, Bell has a chance to be a top five team.
Sizemore always does a good job. The odd thing is though that the former coach had great teams until the last two years.

Fair point. I just didn’t understand how bad it was until into the season last year. I think he cursed at and threatened to fight Corbin’s coach during a game. That showed he was no one who needed coaching our kids. Then I have heard plenty more stories and witnessed a few at games.
#86
I have only seen Bell a limited amount of times but if I remember correctly they lost a lot of experience from last season. And I believe they finished last in the district. Maybe a new coach will make a huge difference. But unfortunately the past has proven that it is more about making plays than running them!
#87
Does anyone know who the new kids are that Barbourville got? I seen play a few games at North over the summer and I was impressed. They had a big kid that's a junior #23 I had never seen before. one of the fastest big guys I have seen.
#88
51st is going to be interesting. Knox Central still has a lot of talent this season. Mills is hard to handle. He has a good basketball IQ. They are going to be tough to beat. And looking at the record Barbourville during the summer shows they won’t give up easy. They have lots of talent. Vaughn is one of the best players in the region. And Moore and Gray have been over looked both juniors. Moore was scoring upward to 20 points a game JV
#89
I believe they picked up a guard from Red Bird since summer ball

Bell co. Looks a little different in their photos
