Well I was a believer in Campbellsville but I’m starting to waiver. Is Larue pretty good or is this an upset?

Not necessarily an upset. Larue was a 3A semi finalist last year, lost their D1 running back, and is finding their identity. They are HUGE. Two D1 commits on the o-line, they pound you and pound you. Campbellsville’s weakness is depth (only 24 players), I would imagine Larue just wore them down.

A surprise to me as Larue doesn't have a lot of explosive skill kids. Their line is one of the biggest in 3A, I'm sure. I'd say they just got in their bone and ran it down C-Ville's throats until them kids were wore out. Funny thing about styles. Casey was never int he game against Campbellsville, but was ahead of Larue 7-0 through the first half, and I think it was 14-7 going into the 4th. Larue's size wore us out as well and our defense couldn't get off the field. We have more numbers than Campbellsville, but with our version of Malachi out for the year, we just let them blow it open at the end. Turnovers were key in that game, along with Larue just wearing and wearing on you. I see how they must have made the semis last year, just pounding those big backs behind a big line.

They are not a great team, but they are a good team. I doubt you’ve even seen them.

Last year they had Anthony Adkins, who had more than 2,500 yards from scrimmage and is running the ball for Army now. Jeremiah Belton is a good talent but he’s not Adkins.

Campbellsville is poorly coached.

They are not a good team. I don't care what you doubt. I'll guarantee that I've been through more of this great state than you have.

You’re a message board troll that likes to spout big talk . . . and still haven’t denied that you haven’t seen Campbellsville play this year.

You're a whiner that doesn't like truth and pump subpar teams up to be great then call somebody a troll when they don't agree with you. Learn some new material and switch back to your other personality, kid.

I know they did, and also an easy path to the semis to be quite honest. But they had some talent for sure, and a big line.

To close the debate on Larue being a "good", or "not good team". I guarantee I travel the state as much or more than anyone in this forum, having coached and helped on 3 levels the past 15 years. Larue last year was a good team. Larue this year is an average team who basically do one thing, run the ball in bone. They will beat teams that are small and cannot stop the surge of their lineman, and will wear down teams with low numbers until they have no energy in the late 3rd quarter. That's what they are. Campbellsville is a good team, in the class they are in, 1A football. Losing to Larue was a style matchup and most likely those same coaching issues they have sometimes of not getting their offense lined up in a timely fashion, or weird timeouts, burning their timeouts, etc.. Campbellsville has been weak against power running teams for the past 4 years, or longer and lost their defensive lineman to graduation. A solid 3A team beat a good 1A, crap happens.
