Not gonna say that I totally disagree but if you kind of didn't expect this you've had blinders on....We graduated a ton almost every kid is playing varsity for the first time and with the schedule we play yeah we are gonna get beat...I still think by November we are gonna be a tough out for any other team we face....

Most teams lost position players, and I’m sure Whitley lost starters as well.. EXCUSES...

Most teams lost position players, and I’m sure Whitley lost starters as well.. EXCUSES...

I don’t think anyone is making excuses. There is no lack of talent. The only thing that is lacking is experience. Which is why this team will get better every week win, lose, or draw. The difference in the half was plain to see anyhow. Corbin outscored whitley 21-0 in the second half, and took a knee late or they could’ve scored another.

Defense is basically a brand new team, first time starting varsity, big entrance , full stadium, extremely nervous, and once they settled down pitched a second half shut out. Plus had to play on a short field on two of those scores due to turnovers, give them a chance and you won’t be disappointed.

I'm no Corbin "defender" but I think I saw some comments against the Longmire kid that are unfounded. "Doesn't look like a D1 player"...Kid is in his sophomore year. Last year he had one of the best Corbin teams in years, with good lineman, a great QB, skill players everywhere. I'm sure Corbin is still better than 90% of the teams out there, but the Longmire kid has a build that he will grow into, by his senior year. He's not one of those Lebron James type kids that is already fully developed at 15. Personally I still think he's one of the top prospects in the state. Corbin has a hell of a schedule, and 4A is going to be ridiculously competitive.

:eyeroll: You've already shown how much you know about Corbin's team this year... 19 seniors most of who started and played since they were sophomores, Not just a good QB Estep was about 70 to 80% of the offense last year, 3 LB's one of which who had started since he was a freshman and another who was talented enough that he's now at Louisville, maybe the best WR I can ever remember seeing at Corbin.....like I said we aren't even close to being the team that we'll be in November, no excuses and still no Warren at QB .....:Shaking:

They’ve always, always had the kids that’s never been the problem it’s ALWAYS been the adults in the room. Nepotism has been horrible there for as long as I can remember. I’m almost ready to clap for Siler but it’s to early yet, when they stay our of Irwin’s way long enough to let him actually do it right I’ll applaud him, they’ve put together a solid staff if they’ll let them change the culture Whitley will do big things and it’ll make me a very happy man... I have a lot of friends and family down there and people like Dougie deserve it too...

They have a ways to go and lack depth but they are well coached and can compete with anybody on their schedule.
