You need to talk to your elder jacket football fans about pre 90’s football.

Before 1984 Bell County had not combined with Lone Jack high school and built up on the hill. Yes middlesboro was a dominant force but they have had a team for decades when the two schools joined. Middlesboro may have won 5 or 6 games since Bell moved to the hill.

Started with 21 went to 19 and now back up to a high of 25. Not much experience at all. Going to be a rebuilding year for sure.

I’m glad Middlesbro is back in same district as Breathitt Co!! They had some really good games in late 90’s and early 2000. Hopefully both teams will get back to we’re there back then and give us some exciting games!!!!

I remember those days those were battles. Unfortunately Middlesboro is nowhere near the program they were then.
I've been up to a few practices this yr and they have better skill players this yr, unproven qb play and an inexperienced line. Most all of the Boros line from a yr ago were seniors with experience with far less skill players This season will be the opposite of that
Numbers are down quite a bit. There is some talent out there just not enough of it. They will he so thin that the grind of the season will take a toll.
I could see a few wins on the schedule but not many more than that. Schedule is much easier than in the past but I doubt its gonna matter
I do think under French the kids will play with more heart and hustle and will be coached up better but its gonna be several yrs before Middlesboro can even sniff being respectable IMO, and that's if kids come out, and right now in Middlesboro kids dont play anything outside of tee ball. It is what it is.

20 players to camp? Word is now you WILL be looking for another head coach next year. French not happy, kids not playing. Soccer has more on roster and word is wanted to drop soccer so kids will play football? That is a storm coming. Middle school has 11 kids on team and youth program had 20 kids sign up k-6.

Larry French will get it turned around quickly. Not uncommon to have low numbers following a down spell. If the Boro can get 4-5 wins this year, French will double that in year 2.

I can start listening to you when you learn 5-6 grade is not middle school. This is a pic of 5,6,7,8, and I count 28-30 ? How many are 7-8? That is considered MS. I watched them practice and play each day.

HS goes and get 8-9 more players great, I am all for it. Can they help this year, nope. Maybe build for a couple years down the road.

Im not sure I understand exactly what you mean. If you are implying the fact that both wins (2013 & 2014) were not on Log Mountain then you're wrong. Middlesboro beats Bell 2013 on Log Mountain on a Saturday after their lights weren't working, (and by a score that would've been way worse if the game would've been played on that Friday than holding over to Saturday). Then, the next year (2014) was one of the best games to be played at Bradner, in arguably the history of Bradner Stadium since the early 1930's. So, that Yellow Jacket squad wins against the Bobcats at both their home field and Bell's.

Also, Middlesboro still holds the all-time record between the two schools, just to throw that out there. Middlesboro has a tradition of winning that spans back long before Dudley's reign of power came through in his intermittent tenure. Middlesboro wants to win, the people in town want them to win, and eventually they will get back to winning, I can promise you that.
