If you think the Floyd County Board of Education allows Pburg High to "break the law" as you put it then you are certainly not very well informed. All this thread is accomplishing is to hurt the kids that are on the team. If there is an issue with the coaching staff, then report it to the authorities-do not down the team. They are a easy target, so have a little class. Besides, everyone knows how great and wonderful Belfry is. :notworthy
I would never put down the kids. They can't help what the coaches do. I am more well informed than you could ever be. It did no good to report anything to the so called authorities. Believe me. So what I am referring to at this point is moot. I do wish all the players a good and healthy season ahead. :howdy:

OK, what can someone tell us about the scrimmage itself? Who looked fair? Who needs more work? Size? Speed? You don't have to use names, I tried to get away to go but had to miss it.

About the game, Just my opinion it will be another long....season for the Blackcats. They have no size other than a couple of kids. The do have speed, so I think you will see more passing than ever before from this team. But with only 29 kids out it could be tough. Based on the schedule I believe that 5 wins would be successful due to the competition. I hope I am wrong, but they are very slim to say the least.
Positive observations-Bobby Hughes QB has a rocket arm and a heart big as there is; Wes Woods will be at several positions, Seth Moore-Nice surprise, Wes Hall will be a load if he can stay healthy. Soph. Seth Setser will contribute-very talented. There are other positives also-maybe J D can pull them together and surprise everyone. I wish them the best!

Were any kids missing due to baseball or other sports??
30 seems like a very low number for Prestonsburg.

I counted 29-30 players. The wrestling story is simply not true. First hand knowledge of this one. As far as the game maybe 2-3 players absent. Bottom line-low turnout. There is lot of concern about the program in general. I hope the kids can have fun and have a winning season, but it will be very difficult.

Have fun? That might be tough to do with the pressure put on you to produce at P'burg.

Hughes is a competitor, and will do well whatever sport he should choose to play. But he can't get down on himself after making a mistake. Everybody makes mistakes in any sport. That's a big problem in High School, players being demanded to play flawlessly when they would do better if let to have some FUN playing the sport again.:coach:

First of all, you people have no clue what you are talking about! The team usually has around 40 players out. There are about 10-12 incoming freshmen that will be out for the team. I know this for a FACT! Add the numbers together 30+10-12 = 40-42 players WOW how about that? You people that would love to see this program wilt and die can forget it! This team will play hard and perform well this season. I could inform you much more on other aspects of the team but I prefer to read on about how little you actually know!
Have a nice day.

hh: Easy Super 6, not everyone's out to get you, I don't think, lol. You'll always hear roomers about low player turnout this time of the year. Except for some schools who boast about high player turnout. Someone told me just the other day that Johnson Central had like 120 or 125 out. some players from other counties etc. But Thanks for the incoming freshman info, I like many others had not considered them into the picture yet. I wish the players good luck thru summer practice and next season. :coach:

Well S6 that was an ignorant post. You need to adjust your numbers, players are quitting as we speak. Sad to see. Maybe they can dress some of Adams MS players to get the numbers up. As for the wilt and die comment; look at the program now, it is already in major wilt mode. I may not be as "intelligent" as you, but I know trouble when I see it. This program is in trouble. Now for the shocker, I know these kids personally and love them very much, they are simply victims of circumstance. My opinion is that if they win 4 or 5 games it will be a major accomplishment.

Players that have quit since September: Mason Vance, Raymond Woods, Darrin Lawson, Elliott Baldridge, These are who I can think of off the top of my head !

Seriously did JC have that many? Wow that sounds like a large number. I hope that means good things ahead for the Eagles.

I have to completely agree with you on this one. They truly are victims.....I hope they can get some major changes for their program so that someday there can be a real football program at Prestonsburg. Wish the boys the best for the upcoming season. :howdy:

Quitting as you speak huh?
Name ONE! Just One ! please!
And if you "Know These Kids Personally" and "Love them very much"
you would find a positive message to post "for these kids you love" instead of telling them they may win four or five games. That's real support! I'm willing to bet you are just as fair weather as 90% of the people around here!
I could care less if you have it in for that coaching staff but be positive to the kids they do read this stuff you know!
