South Laurel Basketball
#1
Is South missing one of their (bigger) starters. Heard one either quit or got kicked off the team. If so, it's a shame either way

Dianna Morgan, senior center, left the team several weeks ago. She has enrolled at Clay Co. (That was reported in Manchester newspaper this week). I do not know the reasons behind it, and would be surprised if she was ruled eligible at Clay this late in the season.

Wow. Ok. Thanks for the update

i think Diana will get eligible in time for district. South could have held her paper work to khsaa for 14 days but chose to send it on day one. If they had held it no chance of being eligible but south didn’t want to hold up a seniors last chance she had already lost her scholarship to campbellsville over other issues from what I am told. I assume if they can show a legit move then she will be eligible by district if not a game or two before.

Wow that’s sorta surprising. Would really make things even more interesting in the postseason if she is ruled eligible.

I don’t believe South would give a rats a$$ about it being her Senior year. I’d say they got threatened with a law suit or something lol. If she gets to play how can they explain the Harmon boy not
Getting to play at Marshall. A girl from Lynn Camp transferred to Corbin last year then in the middle of the season they went back to Lynn Camp and got to play within 2 weeks knowing that the kid didn’t move or change addresses. How can they determine who gets to play. That’s crazy

yea khsaa is all over the board on who plays and who don’t but Harmon’s dad screwed that up by going to media and saying they was looking at 3-4 schools. U can have a legit move but it can’t be for sports reasons. He made it obvious it was. I do think they should have let kid play though.

yea south did get threatened with a lawsuit but if south really wanted to hold it up they legally have 14 days to respond and u can sue all u want but you wouldn’t win so south done right thing and released her.

South seems to have a lot of uproar this season between this alleged lawsuit and their ex coach. Speaking of which, he’s been showing up to a lot of hazard girls games lately.

Why would they be threatened with a lawsuit? Those people are crazier than a bat and everyone in 5 counties knows it. Its a shame that she/they have been allowed to get by with the crazy crap they have for years. My cousin knows them and they are gonna fake a divorce to get her a chance. Karma will be hard to get by on this.............

He lives there and coached there and his wife teaches there, why would he not show up there? :Shaking:

South will be totally fine. They are really rolling, Coach Souder knows his stuff. They are playing better together and finding a great rhythm. The defense is taking a bit to strengthen up but it's improving consistently. I know they hit a couple bumps in the road along the way, but even without Morgan they are the 13th favorites.

HaHa. They never came before because he was coaching at South Laurel. But since he got fired for allegations from wymt of inappropriate conduct, he suddenly is itching to get a job. My daughter won’t play for a man that got fired for inappropriate conduct while coaching a GIRLS team. Disgusting.

He did NOT coach Hazards girls. His wife does NOT teach at the HIGH school, she is NOT a teacher, she’s a speech therapist at the elementary school.

He coached at Hazard, he was begged to coach the girls before he took the South job, his wife works with students in Hazard Schools, her family is a staple in the community and long time coaches and supporters of any Hazard program, of course they are going to support all the teams in the community. And as far as a job, of course he wants a job, Caudill don't want to do it after this year, they need a good coach, he is definitely one of those on the list.

As far as the other junk from South, all it has been is allegations from what I have seen or heard! There are allegations all of the time, doesn't mean he was guilty. Has it been proven in court????? Don't kill a persons reputation or coaching career on allegations. If he gets proven guilty of doing something wrong, then I will totally agree with you, but until then, he would make a great coach. :Cheerlead

His father n law was a outstanding coach! Completely agree with you. All I’m saying, rather it was proven in court, swept under the rug or he didn’t do it. The allegations is out there and in no way will I let my daughter play for ANYONE who’s be accused of misconduct. That doesn’t just apply to him though. And not ever girls coach gets accused of things. We just have different of opinions :-)

He helped with the boys, he did NOT coach the girls. :-)

Why doesn’t Caudill want to do it anymore?
#20
I said this in a different thread, if he didn’t do any of the things he was being accused of then why did he resign and go away so fast. If you are innocent and are being accused of those type of things you are going to fight it tooth and nail. If his reputation is so important he should have protected it a little more when he was a head coach. I wouldn’t ever put my daughter on a team with a coach that had previously been accused of those issues. I would hope Hazard would put the student athletes 1st and not give into public figures and booster pressure.

Earlier in the thread someone said she lost her scholarship to Campbellsville over issues. I hope whatever those issues are she is able to learn from them and be able to play somewhere if she wants to. Being able to use the ball to get all or even some of your education paid for is a blessing.

Best of luck to her going forward.

she did loose the campbellsville scholly. Hopefully she picks up another. I think she will. Not sure if she will play this year though.

Tina Morgan has blocked everybody from south. I still hope she gets eligible but don’t see it happening. It’s got crazy
#28
Tina has tried to talk to every coach and even folks like me that’s close to the program. She has either blocked or got blocked by everybody including me. I was always hoping Diana would get eligible cause she just a kid. I no longer feel that way after the messages I got from her mother. I hope north south or anybody fight this till the end. Everything Tina(mom) says is a lie. She blocks anybody that calls her out on the lies. South way better off without her at this point.
#29
She wont get eligible. These people smoking crack.
#30
She shouldn’t. It takes everybody else in this situation months to get eligible. Why should it be any different for her?
