Corbin 21 Boyle County 0
Snakesnot Wrote:We are the ones that get on here and make it go. I'd swap Corbin with Mayfield on your list.
Boil County too. I think they were saying earlier that they would blow Mayfield out.
Danville can get cocky too.

Danville has a lot to be cocky about. Then again, it wasn’t an Admiral fan that got on here last year and stated Mayfield would win with a simple adjustment to take care of Van Cleave. :biglmao:
Granny Bear Wrote:It is. But IMHO, Boyle's receiver had both feet in bounds when he caught the ball. The momentum leaned him into the pylon and ultimately out of bounds. The Ohio State guy jumped out of the end zone to catch the ball but hit the pylon on the way up.

At least that's the way I saw it, but I didn't have my glasses on.

Some, alot, of our fans is the definition of arrogant! But I will say this, for everyone one of those we have a diehard, Pirates loving, humble fan to "X" out the bad ones. But some of our fans are terrible and think their football Gods and couldn't really tell you the difference in an offsides and false start. Those are the people I cant stand. And we got some brother let me tell you!
I have a great football mind.I just play dumb on here. lol

I still laugh at simple adjustment.
Hatz Wrote:I’m going to sound arrogant.

Boyle has as much right as Belfry. They have two more titles than the Pirates.

Won five straight when there were only four classes.

Won 47 games in a row.

Won back to back with a different coach in 2009 n 2010 while winning 43 out of 44.

Sorry but the Rebels May have even more to crow about than Belfry.

No you’re absolutely right on all of that. I just meant recently, like last 10 yrs or so. Boyle has accomplished a heck of a lot. Can’t argue that. I guess I should have put more recently in my post. My bad.

You’re welcome!! Hah

I got laughed at when I said MF would beat Boyle. And I honestly think they would. We had a lot of factors going against us in the Mf game. But I don’t know if would have changed the end result any. Maybe a closer score. MF just played lights out that game.

Don’t you know no one can beat Boyle or Danville. By the way, what time do they play next week?
I thought only Bama could beat Boyle. I read all this stuff. Boyle best tesm in state could win in all class titles. They might not have said those exact word but that was the insinuation for sure. So now take that humble pie and have a Merry Christmas. Congratulations Red Hounds and good luck in the Championship.
Demarcus ware Wrote:This is true IMO. Not enough can be said about Corbins D last night. They was definitely prepared for this game.

Agreed. Corbin’s physical defensive play was Huge. Tip of the hat to QB Estepp. At the beginning of the year....my only hesitation in not putting Corbin at the top of 3A was the loss of Sizemore and the field leadership he brought to Corbin’s program. Knowing Estep’s athletic prowess was one thing....knowing if he could LEAD his team from under center was another. Please pass the ketchup. The crow will go down a little easier. Good luck next week.
Our defense has been huge all year minus one game. And that was a different issue, not totally on them as a defensive unit. But I’ve said over and over they don’t get enough credit. People see some of our scores and just look at the points we scored. But the unsung hero is always the defense who gives up very very little. There’s not to many D’s I’d want over our in 3rd and 4th down situations. I wish they kept those stats, guarantee it’s close to the top, state wide.
Really glad to see Corbin in the state title game. I have high respect and admiration for Boyle, Belfry, and Central, but it just feels like it's Corbin's moment to go out and grasp that long-awaited title. Here's an EKY boy from Russell hoping you guys come back down I-75 with the title in hand. I'll have to check out Estep's highlight tape!

Much respect to Chuck Smith and Boyle. Smith and Bartleson are players. They'll definitely be back!!
It amazes me that the powers that be allegedly cut a cast off a players hand, taped his hand up, and allowed him to play. This isn't the NFL here. I would have been more concerned about my player's health than winning a game. I am really disappointed to hear this.
I'll make sure to let Reese's dad know that you disapproved.

I could understand if it was something more serious or an early season game. I don’t see the problem with a kid doing everything he can to try to win a state championship. I’m sure the kid was fighting harder than anyone to get to play. The world needs a more toughness like this from our young people not less.

I 100% agree if it’s the coach that forces or influences the kids decisions to do so. However, some of these kids are warriors, and you won’t keep them out a game like that unless they were in a wheelchair. If the KID wants to do it without outside influence from parents or coaches, I say go for it. But not the other way around.

Btw how is smith? I’m not worried as much about his hand as I am his head. I went back and watched it and that was just a freak football play. Is he ok?

I've commented/asked about that and nobody seems to be saying a word. He was definitely out cold. I was even worried about his neck after seeing the replay.

He is a special player, was a freak play. Heads are not suppose to bounce like that, you could tell he was out cold. I watched it a couple times. Praying he is ok.

Tell him to start getting online and reading Bluegrass Rivals, and he can see it for himself.

Nah, I'll just refer him to Dr. Westside

I'll set him up for an appointment this Friday night at 7pm. I know that time slot unexpectedly came open for all Boyle County fans.

FYI. He spent a number of weeks this season doing something similar each week. He wore a pad for three games I believe.
Corbin Wrote:Any update on the finals seating situation? Would love to be on the home side again. That woodford reserve room was handy.

per team page it indicates that Corbin will again be on home side. Obviously I am a Mayfield guy and they have stuck us on the visitors side wearing white again this year and I am pissed

I am going to be a Corbin game so atleast I will get to see Hounds from the home /south side

A family member said he is good, got knocked out cold but didn’t have a concussion just didn’t play anymore due to wanting to take caution but he was totally coherent. They also said he talked the doctor into cutting the cast off for the game. He also had his hand surgically repaired today but I have no update on that.
That’s good news he is a heck of a player. Hope nothing but the best for him
