Matt and jj actually only played 2 min into the 3rd and never came back in so Subs played most of 2nd half. Real test comes tues at Scott co. They are loaded.

If those two stay healthy and I pray they do, I honestly can’t see anyone in region being to much of a threat. Depends on who you ask, but for me JJ was top player last year and Matt was a top 5 kid in region. I am a Corbin fan, but those two amaze me.

Great scrimmage to watch. Wish South could get Henry Clay to return for the regular season. Scrimmages are a decent indicator, but I still don’t put a ton of stock in preseason games. SL stormed out to a 20 plus point lead before half. Are they that much better than Henry Clay? I doubt it. But still a good confidence booster going into a tough season opener at Scott Co Tuesday night.

J.J. and Matt are 1/2 in the region. J.J. threw down a vicious dunk in the second quarter and seems like he has even more springs in those legs this year. Cromer will never be confused as the biggest guy on the court, but he has no fear in taking it to the hole and can flat out shoot.
The biggest surprise to me was Norvell. I’ve heard, over the summer, that he could shoot. Wow, did he ever. At least 6 3FG in the first half. If he remains a consistent threat, South might be better than their preseason ranking of 15th in Herald Leader poll.
Hostettler looked improved and appears to be solid at the point. The big guy, Wombles, could be key in cleaning up the boards and giving SL some size.
I was impressed overall. Could be Davis’ best squad since arriving in London, and maybe the best team since the 05-06 teams with Walt Allen, Ty Proffit, Eric Fields and Jordan Hammonds

Going to be a tough one for sure. Michael Moreno is up there with David Johnson for Mr Basketball.
Wish South could get Henry Clay to come back to London later on when it counts. I made the trip up the Lex last season and Henry Clay must have hit on 60% plus from outside.

Do you know if South is playing on 12/1 at the Nissan classic at North? I’m surprised their not on the schedule, but I heard there were problems finding an opponent.

I just saw that they was added to the Friday night games at 9:00 against Athens prep school. Scott County doesn't seem so bad now. Lol.

Thanks for the heads up. Just did a little research. Athens Prep is a basketball mill for troubled kids. Not even associated with the THSAA. Wish they could have gotten a team like GRC, or one of the Louisville area teams to come down. Last year, Trinity played in the classic

They’re good but they don’t come close to the 15-16 team with Anders, Grubb, Ramey, Griffith, Taylor. Loved watching that team

Trinity will actually play Scott County at South Laurel on the first Saturday in January.

Has the KHSAA changed the rule that their members could not play schools that were not part of their state associations?

Athens Prep is not affiliated with Tennessee's high school association. I don't know how that affects KHSAA schools. Could always be the case that it's considered a scrimmage?

Great team for sure. Thought they had Doss beat in that semifinal game at Rupp. You might be right, guess we'll see how the season unfolds.
