Raceland @ Pikeville 11/23

PHSForever Wrote:Interesting analysis (seriously) that made me go and check some stats out;

Raceland scored 28 or more points this year against the following teams on their schedule: Lawrence County, West Carter, Lucasville Valley, Fairview, Bishop Brossart, and Paris.

Raceland allowed 28 points or more only to Lucasville Valley. That's it

Pikeville was held to 28 points or less by: Belfry (21 points). That's it. Scored 28 or more in every single game this year.

Pikeville allowed 28 points or more to only Belfry and Point Pleasant

I was going off of those stats when I said we would need at least 28. The Panther offense has been on fire this year you guys are going to score points this week. I think our defense is good enough to hold you under 28 but our offense has to do their part and drive the ball so the defense isn’t on the field all night.

If Raceland wants to win, they will need to sustain and finish drives in the ground and pound offense. My team Hazard didn’t make it, but they pounded the ball and had some success against Pikeville. Raceland has two backs so they should have success.if they don’t, then Pikeville wins this game. Raceland will have to limit Pikevilles big play ability as well. They have 3 tall athletic receivers who just make plays. Raceland also may have some success in the middle of the field. Pikeville has the big corners so if you throw deep and your player isn’t of equal size then they have the advantage. But this should be a dandy.

After friday night, I kind of thought this game would finish with a Pikeville 3TD win. But, the more I think about the individual match ups in this game, the more I think it's going to be a tighter game. IF we can sustain drives and finish off in the redzone. Our special teams doesnt worry me like it did early in the year bc we have kind of figured out what personel we need on the field to use the squib kick a bit more effeciently. I think this is going to be a good ball game. If we can be effecient in the redzone i like our chances.

I mean this as respectfully as possible. I hope Raceland squib kicks. Giving yards to our offense hasn't really worked super well for most teams against us this year. Lol. On the whole though, it hasn't really mattered, Pikeville has simply done well in either situation all season. When looking at the Raceland D, I've come to the same conclusion as you and Blaze, the match ups are intriguing.

Pikeville is fairly healthy. Couple of nicks and dings, but overall good. How's the Dalton kid for Raceland? Someone said on another thread he did not play vs Paintsville.

**Note to Pikeville fans:

Please untie the bells from the cattle before attempting to use them at the game. Repeat, untie them from your wives before bringing the cowbells to the game.

This is hands down the funniest post I have ever read! I just literally laughed out loud at this one. Jet, you are one funny guy. I hope to meet you one of these days. When are visiting days at the Pike Co Detention Center? LOL

For you Pikeville posters. My family comes from Long Fork Rd just past Virgie. My great uncle was Scott Johnson and the Johnson Chevy dealership from the 80’s (that is now a Walters owned dealership) is my kin. So, I have some Panther blood in me.

Lol. Now you started a war, comparing our wives to cattle. I'm guessing that means the train horns for y'all were just your wives blowing their noses? LOL

I know the family well. Good to hear you have some Pike County in you.

He can't be visited until someone drops some money in the prison canteen for him. He blew all he had on his subscription to this site. Lol

Or snoring......
Boy this stuff dont happen on the other site bahahaha. I got banned for calling Somerset the bunnies. This is great stuff!!!!! Really glad that these two will be playing each other in the regular season for atleast the next 2 years.
Me to Scotty, you know I have a lot of respect for Raceland’s program. Love to talk about these games and love to have fun with some of the stuff that’s said but we can analyze these games to death and last week I did that. Guess what none of my analysis came even close, we got to remember these are 16 to 18 year old young men. Lord knows what’s on their minds sometimes but just hope for an injury free game for both these teams. Now yes I think Pikeville (and I am bias) can win this game but I thought that last year, too. Now will they that’s up to these two teams to decide but still love talking about these games and reading the posts like Orange Blaze made and some others which are very good. As always GO PANTHERS!!!
That point pleasant team that beat Pikeville lost by 47 Friday night.

To Fairmont who was playing at home, has crushed everyone, and would be ranked above Male and everyone else except a team or 2 in KY. Meanwhile, that team Somerset who Raceland played to the wire, beat LCA in the last few seconds at home. That LCA team Pikeville put a running clock on in the 1st half. Fact is nobody Raceland has played has done anything. Except that loss Raceland fans are so proud of to Ashland, who lost to JC by 100 in 2 games.

Haha they won't arrest me in Pike, the Co. Judge-Exec and Sheriff both owe me money lol...

That Belfry team that beat Pikeville lost to Boyle County so what does that mean, like the old song what is that good for absolutely nothing. You may not remember that RAM-A-DEVIL you probably to young. Don’t think you should compare scores but if you want we will. Only thing that matters is Friday night and as always GO PANTHERS!!!

Why are you going back 8 weeks to when it was 90 degrees out instead of what just happened which is Hazard got killed by Williamsburg, who then had a running clock put on them at the start of the 2nd quarter at Pikeville? And Raceland had no success running against Paintsville in both games. And even if they do have a *little* success they are going to face a Pikeville offense that is now better than any offense they have ever seen...at Pikeville where they have never won...

Pikeville 34
Raceland 7
I have to leave before daylight to go out of town in the morning so unfortunately I am done here. Hope to be back in time for the game but in all seriousness good luck to both teams, may the best team win and praying for no injuries to either team. Go get 'em Panthers!!!:Cheerlead:rockon:

Not proud of any Assland loss. We destroyed them everywhere but the scoreboard.(which is all that matters in the end). I don’t think pickville could beat Somerset. Stop trying to make your bad loss look good!
And I almost forgot, nothing but respect for Raceland program and fans. We like to talk a little trash on here but we love our programs and it's all about them. Win or lose after it's all said and done the respect will always be there for both sides.
Not one to compare scores but since you mentioned it .......
Somerset Beat Lexington Christian 34-31. Pikeville Beat Lexington Christian 50-7. 🤷🏼*♂️
Pikeville by 2 TDs.
Pikeville is a runaway train and Raceland will not be the team to stop them.

Pikeville - 28

Raceland - 7

Just pointing it out. It was definitely not 90 then, but it was low 70s which is still warm. Hazard just couldn defend the pass and Williamsburg exposed them. Pikeville has a good secondary and in there close games they have had trouble stopping the run. Now they got to prove defense though to make those stops that they can make those stops that they didn’t make earlier in the year. Now I’m not sure if there offense is any better than what it was, but they haven’t had a drop off in it. It’s still the same explosive offense thats dangerous.

Wiiliamsburg had 149 rushing yards vs Hazard. Stats not up yet but I'll be surprised if they had 20 vs Pikeville. They can stop the run. Raceland however gave up a ton of yards to Williams of Paintsville. Now I really am off to bed.
Edit: Pikeville had 305 yards to Raceland's 186 last year at Raceland.
