Both were legitimate blocks to the defender's chest, but apparently the rules are that you have to lead with your hands on crack back blocks now.

I completely agree with you. This rule has been used against us several times this year. Heck, I am the team doctor but they’re taking contact out of football.

Somerset has some of the beat facilities I’ve seen. Great place to play

Man I cannot wait for the playoffs in the 1A east! Gonna be some killer games every week. Hazard Pikeville and Raceland are gonna be hell. The bunnies will be a tough out for anyone in their class as well.

You gotta throw Paintsville in there as well and you gotta wait until the third week of the playoffs till all that starts!

If the punter punts the ball he had turned into a kicker and protected in that process. Like you said you can take a chance on drawing a roughing call but most of the time if the defender gets that close and the punter hasn’t timed his steps up, he takes a chance of the defender getting a piece of the ball and blocking it. The rugby option really does take one, maybe two blockers out of the return just to make sure the ball is kicked.

If college rules are same as high school , once a punter gets outside the locket he’s fair game if he punts it or not . It happened during a college game I was watching , I had no idea that was the rule
