Mayfield 63 Murray 28

Final

Congrats to Mayfield

Cards sluggish in the win. Gave up 28 points before pitching shutout in 2nd half after a come to Jesus halftime revival

Even though Mayfield scored 63, it seemed Murray went down the field in the first half with more ease than most people thought they would.

Murray O Whipped our D In the first half. I thought we’d have a letdown but I tell ya, Murray’s O is good

Congrats to Mayfield. First half kinda shocked me but they got going in the second half. Also, congrats to Murray. They hung around for alot longer than I thought they would.

If Mayfield offense ever has a bad night against a good team they will be in trouble. Defense definitely has a lot of work to do. They may have held Murray scoreless in the 2nd half, but Murray still moved the ball well. Murray had some bad play calling in the 2nd half tried 2 home run throws on 1st, and 2nd down that got them behind the chains, and on 4th, and 1 on another drive they try to throw again. Not sure why you wouldn't run it considering Mayfield had not stopped Murray on 4th, and short all night. Wasn't at the game, but it sure seemed like they went away from what was working for them most of the night. They probably score a couple times in 2nd half if they stick to the run on 4th, and short. This is best passing team Murray has had in years, but they chose the wrong time to do it a couple times. Mayfield seems to have a problem with getting a ridiculous amount of penalties called on them. That needs to be fixed. Offense scored every time they had the ball except for the drive that they was picked, and if the radio crew was right, the receiver was held badly which kept him from getting to the ball to make the catch, or to turn defender. The only other drive they didn't score on was the last when jv turned it over on downs. Maybe this will be a wakeup call to the defense, and kickoff team. Just my honest opinion.

Glad somebody can appreciate my opinion, but I'm sure good ole 55 will be on soon to rip me a new one. With this coaching staff I know they will fine tune some things. I've seen a lot of Mayfield teams look like they had problems in the regular season, then crank it up a a bunch of notches in the playoffs, so I've learnt that when I'm concerned about things they always seem to fix it, so I don't worry as much anymore. This is the time to learn what you need to work on the most.

I can be objective, about our team and others. If you can stop our O, your really good. Our D at times has been awesome, I’m not sure if Murray’s O was that good or if our D just didn’t come out ready to play, maybe a little of both. But that is the best Murray O I have seen in a long time regardless. I said in the prediction thread I thought we may have a letdown, so I’m really not sure what happened, but I’m gonna give Murray credit for takin it right to us.
