4A Boyd County @ 4A #1 Ashland 9-28
#1
Thoughts? Predictions? Ashland homecoming game and they should win pretty easy and by 5 or more scores. Can Boyd with this being a huge rivalry game find a way to keep it close? Don’t think they can but that’s why they play the games.

Running clock for the next three weeks for both JC and Ashland...then the fun begins!

This game will be a bloodbath. It's unfortunate for Ashland that they face such a weak schedule prior to the Johnson Central game. This is game seven and I honestly don't believe Ashland has figured it out on offense. Sure, they have big play ability, but will they be able to sustain drives when the time calls for it?

Won't know until Eagles show up. Kittens are very good. we will know how good in a couple of weeks.

Injuries have somewhat derailed Ashland this season. They are still winning, though, because they haven’t played a very difficult schedule. 1A Raceland is the best team they’ve played and they barely beat them. Losing the guy who beat Raceland, Cade Brandt, to a broken collarbone has hurt them badly. They don’t seem to have found a way to get the ball to their best running back, Keontae Pittman, very much at all on a consistent basis. The QB Ratliff has been mediocre at best the past couple of games. They’ve lost their best DL Junior Jones again to injury along with another starting senior DE in this past week’s game. DE Ryan Bryant has been out for most of the games this year. They are having a lot of “fools gold” wins at this point over bad teams. Harlan County just won their first one this season. GW is 2-2 and pretty average this year. Ironton is on the right path but are still pretty average this year. Russell is down. If Ashland can somehow get these injured players completely healthy, then they might have a slim chance of beating Johnson Central. The fact is, though, that Johnson Central is still bigger, stronger, and faster than Ashland across the board. The game in Paintsville at the end of the season could be ugly.

As for the next few weeks, though, Boyd, East, and Greenup will beat themselves so no worries for the Tomcats. They’ll be 9-0 and ranked #1 in the AP poll going into the Johnson Central game. Unfortunately, though, I fear reality will smack them in the face at that point.

Ashland rolls Boyd County like an expensive house with cheap toilet paper.
Ashland 56
Boyd 7

Really really ugly... Ashland’s starters won’t play past 2nd quarter!

Predicting Ashland to win is like standing in line and paying money to watch an unnecessary movie sequel.......

JC and AHS both have the same problem...Injuries, but a very weak district...they will play two games against each other before all is said and done! Hope both teams are at 100% for these games!

Ashland big, who cares. The thing is this; Ashland will be 9-0 and ranked #1 when they play Johnson Central. Ashland will get punched in the mouth and be forced to respond.... on the road.... most likely in un-ideal weather. None of these upcoming games matter. Rowan moved the ball at time *AT TIMES*... *AT TIMES* <----- Word Nazi's..... Johnson Central will move the ball at will if they do not tighten the defense up.

Ashland - A lot
Boyd - Not a lot
