Here is deal with the game last night. It was a muddy/sloppy MESS. We moved the ball well between the 20's but penalties and stupidity prevented more scores. I will say that North Hardin is improved but field conditions and the absence of Reese Smith hampered the ability for the Rebels to put NH away.

I have some concerns about our team after 6 games but there is no question that the horrible field conditions contributed greatly to the game last night. I hope next weeks BYE week gives the kids/staff the extra time they need to fix the issues and allow a few players the time to heal.

The push for #9 starts now.

Missing our #1 WR (and S) really changed the dynamic of our offense especially under the field circumstances. I can only imagine how it was for Corbin last night against a talented team. Tough loss for you guys but you'll rebound better I'm sure.

I hated our game last night. It POURED about 2 hours before the game and about 15 minutes prior again. The field was a mess and I've never been happier to have a turf field at BCHS.

Pretty sure the coaches won't use it as an excuse. The Smith kid missing is legit. Boyle won and continues to win and that's what it's about. Give the other team credit, make no excuses and move on to the next one.

Field conditions were bad for both teams, Boyle was clearly the better team and they had the opportunity to have put 35 more points on the board with 5 trips inside the 20 and nothing to show for them penalties, turnovers, or turnovers on 4th down prevented them from converting those trips to points, 75% of North Hardin’s offensive yds came on 3 plays with all this being said I agree with Fosho if this game was played on a turf field 9 times out of 10 it’s a running clock in Boyle County’ Favor.

I wasn't there but I am pretty sure both teams played on the same field but whatever makes you feel better. You run your mouth non stop calling teams/people trash, etc. but as soon as anyone says anything that differs from your opinion you can't handle it. I'll bet Boyle's coach would be on my side on this one. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings sunshine. Boyle is an outstanding team and they won the game.

So just hypothetical, but if a team gets beat in a playoff game or state championship game on a crappy field, do they replay the game so we can see the "true" team and what they can do? Field conditions are for two teams...Reese not playing...legit.

BTW, I am sure too that Boyle overall is the better team, but this goes to the point that on ONE NIGHT any team can win or come close to winning and come playoff time you never know what weather you may play in.

Lots of people know football and I agree field conditions can change things more for one team. But to come from fans of a championship program like BC is a little amusing to me. Having the best receiver in KY out of the game would seem to me to be just as important IMO.

That was a huge factor but we expect others to take up the slack and field conditions hampered that....I was looking forward to some of our capable backups to show what they could do. They were ready!

The field was so bad (5" of mud) it would have slowed Reese down too (field conditions = the great equalizer). Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it had an effect on NH too but our speed and quickness was a non factor after the first qtr and we aren't exactly a "ground and pound" running team.

That was a huge factor but we expect others to take up the slack and field conditions hampered that....I was looking forward to some of our capable backups to show what they could do. They were ready!

Special special talent is Smith. I have not got to see him live yet, but I have watched enough live games and tape to see how special he is and his skill level is amazing, but it's other things that really aren't coachable that makes him different. Like that catch late against Ballard. Should have been intercepted or could have been at least. Next thing you know he is in the end zone.

I’m not here to give conjecture on whether it mad a difference in margin in this game.

But if the theory that a messy field doesn’t favor one team over another, why have some programs “watered down the field” in big games in past years? :popcorn:

I have been around the sport and/or been involved in the sport for approximately 35 years and have never actually seen a "watered down field". Poor field conditions is an excuse that the mentally weak use. No coach or player worth their salt is going to use it or allow it to be used.
