Perry Central 41 Clay County 14
#1
Final from Manchester.
#2
Congrats to Dores

At least two of Perry’s early scores came on 3rd and long. Tigers got in a tough situation early. Fought back to make it 28-14 with the ball to start the second half but ended up with no score. Clay intercepted 3 balls and I believe recovered 2-3 fumbles and only managed 14, that’s difficult. Dores were the better team but this should’ve been a much closer game. Neace is an exceptional back and even fumbled several times and Clay couldn’t convert. The toughest stretch of the season is coming up for the Tigers. Congrats to PCC, I think they can win their district.

Dores didn’t really played well and still won fairly easy. Clay had a tough time stopping the pass and Neace really. 5 turnovers and some offsides penalties was the only thing slowed Perry Central down. Clays secondary was to small Neace and the other Dores backs just bulldozed over em only chance they had was hold on and pray for help. Pcc practices being disciplined on Snap counts and taking care of the ball and they win their district

That 96 yard Slant that PCC took to the house on 3rd and 18 was a back breaker

Also give it up to the Commodore defense who had at least three stops on 4 and less than a yard.

Absolutely 33 played a heck of a ball game on the defensive side

Definitely was.

I know Clay’s qb isn’t huge but for the last two years they never get under center and sneak on 4th and inches. Every player out there is 6’0” roughly, just push forward.

Their QB was smaller but he was a tough dude. Took a lot of hits

I know, that’s why I think anything 4th and 1 or less should just be a simple sneak. Rarely do teams not get a few inches at minimum.

Exactly. Tigers had just made a big stop for a loss and set up a 3rd and long. Looked like they were poised to get the ball in great field position. Then, boom, PCC touchdown! What momentum the Tigers had from the big defensive play was gone, just like that. Tigers continued to play hard but just couldn’t recover from that back breaker. Hats off to PCC as they proved that they’re not one-dimensional. Clearly, the better team won.

PCC probably has the strongest group of lineman that's ever played there.
