Danville @ Corbin 8.25.18 (Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic)
#1
Predictions?
#2
Corbin - 35
Danville - 14

Corbin is simply better than Danville. The Ads have some good players and good OL/DL but they lost nearly all of their skill kids......their really, really, good skill kids. If Corbin can contain Ads QB Zach Thornton, they will roll.

Corbin should win this one no problem if Danville is as down as I think they are, but Danville has most of their line back on both sides of the ball and could be hard to run on if their linebacker play is decent.

Last year Danville was better.

This year Corbin is the better team IMHO.

Danville lost a lot but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re down. I think Corbin wins, but Danville keeps it respectable.

I agree with this. WHen you're as well coached as Danville and have a solid defense it's still hard to blow them out. In reality you have a much much bigger (in terms of numbers), Corbin vs a handul of kids at Danville. Danville truly is a 2A school with their numbers, but they are just so talented they overcome most odds. But when it gets to be about 85 kids vs 30, and the team with 85 has at least 50 solid to good players, you just get wore down. Now if Corbin jumps on Danville, early, and easily, look out in 3A, unless you're Central, Boyle, or Lexington Cath. Looks like LC is going to be good tthis year. Larue is good, although Etown lost one of the best 3A classes I've seen.

When I said down I meant talent wise and believe me they lost a ton of talent last year, anyone who thinks they didn’t is kidding themselves.

Danville lost a franchise type player if it was the NFL. They lost, IMO, the best skill player in Kentucky. They lost some great lineman on both sides. I'm not sure if the #34 LB graduated or is returning. He was also a stud.

I agree, but they’re still Danville. Nobody is going to beat them without great effort and preparation.

Useless trivia about this series.

The last two times Corbin won a state title, 1980 & 1982, Danville beat the Hounds in the regular season.

Corbin by 2 scores

According to the KHSAA Danville’s roster has 54 players listed.

Danville has 19 Sr.'s but have taken a step back this season. They can be very good by the end of the year but will struggle the next two weeks and the Somerset game could be a dandy. SW made them look bad on Defense in their scrimmage and Wofford is a terrible football team. The Ads need to work on their weaknesses the next two weeks to make themselves better by playoff time. The Danville loss helped Boyle last year, I think Danville can grow the next two weeks while taking losses in both.

Corbin 45
Danville 21

The next two weeks will really show us how close corbin and Boyle are
#24
Danville is gonna put up a fight no matter what, but the Corbin talents gonna take over once game progresses. Corbin by atleast 2 scores
#25
Corbin 34 Danville 20.
#26
I agree with what some of you have already stated in that Danville lost too much from last year including Mr Football. I'm going with Corbin.

I'm not really sure. Boyle and Danville is THE rivalry for both. Rivalry games don't translate well into score comparisons. Danville will be intense and ready to play the Hounds but not like they will be the following week vs the Rebels.

I’m with hatz. I used to try to judge teams based on previous games against like opponents. But there are to many variables at hand to get a true picture. I mean look at last year. I still think Alcoa was probably the best team we played. But it didn’t have any effect when we played Boyle. Or look at Boyle’s loss or our loss to beechwood. You can get a glimpse of how that team plays and matches up to yours, but results mean very little to me anymore.
#29
I wll go with the Redhounds 21-20.
#30
On a neutral field I’d give Danville a chance but it being at corbin they would have to be a couple tds better and their not .. corbin 28 Danville 13
